as far as adding length of pull and in a tradition stock and not pistol grip configuration... the Boyds At-One comes to mind, also I think magpull has a few options by changing out the butt pad and or adding spacers, I think but not positive about that. I think ruger might now sell a synthetic modular stock that has a rear combo 2 in 2 type comb/LOP plastic thingy you can interchange.

the archangel is also adjustable for LOP... but god awfully ugly imho..

Buy one of the Sporters instead of the standard model. Mine on top above the CZ 452

Mine is still 100% stock and still shoots great after almost 40 years. :)

Only thing I'd consider kinda a build was getting the stock to work out OK.

    It started out like this.

Took the barrel to a local machine shop I've used on numerous occasions and had them cut and re thread the barrel seven inches long and 1/2x28.

Cut the stock back to the length I wanted it, then I had to decide what I wanted to do with the end...it was open.

I thought about using the end part I cut off the stock and filling in the voids with JB PlasticWeld, but I knew it would be a bitch to get it looking half ass.

Found a section of thick aluminum L channel in the garage, and thought that would be perfect. Then I had to figure the best way to attach it to the stock. Thought about just using the PlacticWeld, but wanted it to be strong. I bought a sling attachment, and cut another section of aluminum to put in the stock to bolt it too. After attaching the sling mount, I used a shit ton of the JB PlaticWeld to bed the bottom of the stock and cover the aluminum. I put little plastic caps over the sling mount bolts to keep the PlaticWeld from getting on them in case I ever wanted to take it off someday. Then I just sanded the aluminum, and plastic down on the front of the stock to make it look as good as I could before I taped off everything to paint it. It still looks like shit from the end, but better than being open and it's strong as hell.

Yes, it's 9 inches shy of being a regular rifle.

Hard to beat the 10-22 takedown for portability. Even comes with its own backpack.

Bought one of these for every reason you list and then some! Seemed perfect. Unfortunately I experience constant FTF issues :(
Magazine swaps don't seem to help or hurt.
Unfortunately not able to spend as much time with it as I'd like to troubleshoot, but none the less a disappointing experience and sadly unreliable would be a compliment.

I’ve heard that sometimes the action just needs to be cleaned and heavily lubed to correct FTF issues fresh out of the box. Some 10/22s like to be greasy. I’m picking up another one this week.

Appreciate the insight. I'll add this to the project list. I cleaned and lubed it before firing it, but am not opposed to another go through. This could be a REALLY fun gun! Fingers crossed.
    Cheers!

I thought I saw something about Ruger producing a model with the take-down mag pull stock. Do you know anything about that?
