Ok shot a few rounds through it today and it's great! Granted he just has the small ext for it and i'd probably like the +1 a bit more. I'll have to see how it conceals with it.

I think it has less kick to it than my G26. It's not bad what so ever. I had my glasses on (harder for me to focus) and still just about hit the bottle we set up. I only shot 2 rounds though. Didn't want to waist his ammo.

    I love mine.

It is a tool made for a specific application, up close and personal.

My wife does not like it, she carries the Ruger LCR, and loves sit.

The +1 extention really is'nt much bigger than the pinky extention and it holds the extra round so it dosen't change the concealability at all for me. I bought it from impact guns.

    Here is the web site:

There is talk here and there about needing a stronger spring because the last round is stretching it but I have shot A LOT of rounds through it and hve had NO problems with the original spring. I wouldn't waste money on a stronger spring, just spend the $25 on two +1 extentions and life is good.

I carry one off duty in instances where I can't carry anything bigger. It is accurate, reliable, powerful enough (with modern, quality ammo), and seriously seriously light, comfortable and concealable. It does freak me out though- on several occasions I suddenly thought "oh ****, where's my gun?!?!" and figured it must have fallen out at some point because I couldn't feel it in my waistband, but when I put my hand n my hip to check, it was right where it was supposed to be.

    Great little gun.

I also have the LC9. I love it, a little bulky in blue jeans but is perfect for cargo shorts in the summer. But even in jeans with a pocket holster it just looks like you have a cell phone in your pocket.

But if you dont like the safety... just dont use it. The long trigger pull is safety enough ;)

I have the LCP and a KelTec, they are very similar. Wifey carries the LCP, me the other. My only comment is this, (everything else has been stated) according to all the info I can read and come across, you're better off running ball ammo, (yes, instead of HPs) through .380 handguns. The reason being the hollow points expand to quickly, resulting in under penetration. A solid,
or ball, or FMJ will give way better penetration. And let's face it, this is on the bottom end of the ft/lbs energy scale. Maybe one of the LEOs can/will attest to this?

And, of course, they will feed better, although I've had no problems with either. I've ran countless rounds of the Wally World bulk Winchester stuff through both with no worries.

    ^ ^ ^This is accurate info ^ ^ ^

A .380 needs all the penetration it can get especially coming out of the shorter barreled guns like the LCP and Kel Tecs, shorter barreled guns do not produce as much velocity as longer barreled guns

The key is if you ever have to defend yourself against an attacker with a firearm is to make the largest hole possible and to have the best penetration while causing as much tissue damage as possible and to try to make an entry and an exit hole

Bad guys dont stand up as long when they`re leaking fluids from an entry and a exit hole

Some people stagger their ammo in their magazine when they carry small calibers like a .380, start with a Fmj in the chamber then a Hollow point then Fmj and so on throughout the magazine

I wanted an lcr but got a Taurus tcp380 cause i found one new for $180. This thing does not like cheap ammo. It kept giving me feeding issues on the ramp. My rule is that i carry it only when i cant carry anything else.

I have the Ruger LCP and I think its a great gun for conceal carry! I think its sole purpose is to be a conceal carry gun, so I wouldnt use it for much target shooting unless its really close, I have the hornady critical defense bullets and a inside the pocket holster made by desantis. The only thing I hate about guns this small is they cant carry many shells and i know thats the whole idea but if im jumped by a gang or something of this nature I want to have more than enough shells.

I don't even know where to begin with your post, other then it's plain RETARDED.

Some people use ball ammo in .380's do to feeding issues-hollow points will sometimes fail to feed... NOT because it is the go to round for self defense. Most of the time, a polished feed ramp will fix the feeding issues of hollow points.

In many states it is ILLEGAL to hunt with FMJ/Ball ammo due to the fact that it passes through game and does not offer a clean kill. The animal continues to run and the hunter losses it due to the fact the bullet passed through causing minimal damage.

For you to suggest to someone that it is a good thing to get ammunition that passes through a body disgusts me. It shows your lack of responsibility and your lack of knowledge. The FBI spent thousands of dollars to develop a series of tests to make sure the ammo they use does not over penetrate. You want the body to absorb ALL of the bullet's energy/ not get a fraction of it and then pass through to hit an unintended target. Even if you have a good self-defense round, you still have to be aware of what is behind your target- kids? wife? bystander?

There are HUNDREDS of stories from soldiers who have shot enemies with FMJ ammo where the bullet passed through the enemy and the enemy did not go down. There are stories from Vietnam to stories from guys in Iraq.

FMJ/Ball ammo is not the go to ammunition for self-defense. It is cheap, it feeds well, and if you’re punching holes in paper, who cares.

Please do some research before you post nonsense like this. Read ANY bookwritten by Massad Ayoob and go from there.

You Sir, are the uninformed one here. I'll post a link, the first, by he way that showed up on a Google search, "is ball better than HPs in a .380".

    http://www.chuckhawks.com/ammo_by_anonymous.htm

Take a little time to read before calling any one "retarded". I like the way you draw a parallel to hunting, who in hell hunts anything with a .380 handgun? Hell yeah a FMJ will slip through almost any game animal at 2800 fps, doing way less damage than a expanding type projectile. But what about a 90 grain bullet at around 900 fps. A .380 is, by most handgun standards very weak, so you should look for as much penetration as possible. Hollow point type ammo, in .380 speeds, will mostly dissipate through a layer of heavy clothing, like jeans, a jacket and the like, offering very little penetration. Your department must be proud...

All I can do is laugh at this

You Sir need to do some research

I have been shooting and reloading for over 26 years, I send more lead down range in a year than most people do in a lifetime

I am not a ballistics expert, although I know enough about the subject to call myself an expert, I just choose not to

The Fmj was ONLY in reference to a .380 not all calibers and by the way nobody hunts with a .380 unless they plan on getting attacked by a pissed off animal

Before making yourself look stupid again, do some research of your own and dont believe everything that Ayoob says
