It's finally time for me to get a new set of tires. I'm staying with stock size (265/70r16). I've narrowed it down to either the Goodyear Duratracs or the Cooper Rugged Trek. Which do yall prefer? Any experience with either or both?

I have had the rugged trek on my last two trucks. My wife has the duratrac on her 4Runner. They are both good tires. Rugged trek look more aggressive and I like them a little more. They are a hybrid tire so they do not collect rocks and they tend to be a little taller than other tires at the same size so they have a great stance.

I’ve just put on a new set of Duratracs. I like them, the ride is great, and the noise is minimal. I’ve heard people say they might get noisier as they wear. Never tried Coopers. They are both American tires, Goodyear acquired Cooper last year.

    All stock.
I have been rolling on stock size duratracs for 45,000 mi now and have been very pleased with the performance. Road noise has been noticable as they wear but you gotta listen for it. Grip is still good even though they're looking pretty beat. I'm going to replace them with another set.

It would help if you provided more information about how you use your truck. I think a vast majority of people would be better served by a set of all-seasons.

I will always stay with the BFGs A/T. Proven to me after 30 years of using the BFGs. On my 4x4s.

I saw a article comparing the BFGs and the Duratracs ( Goodyear made great improvements).
The writer made good points and negative points. In the end his conclusion was ? Almost equal.

His thoughts were Duratracs had a slight edge in the snow. BFG was slightly better in more rocky terrains.
Today every tire company knows its tires need to perform better then before.

What you decide to buy? Buy it because “you want it” not what others say. Because you will be driving, not us.

I have over 55k on my Wildpeaks and enjoyed them quite a lot. They did lose wet grip toward the end, which is my biggest factor. I am 99% certain that Rugged Treks will be my next tire, esp with WP's skyrocketing price. A friend got a new Trail Boss with Duratracs on them. They are definitely a noisy tire. Not sure that I would like that long term.

Ok I got them installed in a 265/70r16. They replaced my factory goodyear wranglers in the same size. I love the look of them. They have very little road noise. Most of the time you can't hear any at all. The only complaint is that I think they actually run smaller than my factory tires. I take the exact same trip to work daily and always get the exact same miles on my trip (27.0) but with these tires my trip is 27.6. I know that's not much but I was actually hoping for it to be the other way around since my factory tires claim to be 30.6" diameter vs these Rugged Treks claim to be 30.75" diameter. Had anybody else had this issue?
