I would try to trade it in if it is that bad...revert back to stock, and trade it in on a '13?

Dont think ill be in another Toyota after this... really depends on what they do. My brothers '10 is rusty too. Might try the rust stopping stuff and leave it for a year before I decide. Dont think there will be any stopping whats inside the sheets already though

I figured as much.... what I would be worried about is them attaching it to your vin in the system. So if you try to trade it in on another Toyota, you could get HOSED!

Ill find out tomorrow. I love the Tacoma I just dont want to get another truck ill have to deal with rust on. Kind of upsetting :(

Sell it outright might be his better bet after he takes it back to stock as much as possible

My brother actually wants all my stuff. I really dont want to sell it though :( But I dont think there's anything that can be done to stop the damage thats already been done. Ill see what Toyota says later today, talk with insurance, and I have some other idea's on what to do as well.

Looks like they're trying to scare me... I bet the lift and snorkel caused the rust. The welding I could argue with. If it was anywhere near the spots rusting!! Anyway this is the report they are sending Toyota.

You didnt know going from a 6" to 3" lift causes frame rust?

But seriously, I hope it works out for you man

    Dear ,

Thank you providing us with an update to your concern.

Our records indicate that the Customer Relations Manager at McGeorge Toyota performed the inspection of your Tacoma at no cost to you and advised that any repairs necessary would be the responsibility of the owner.

Please be aware the information you have provided is used in combination with warranty claims and other customer contacts to track trends with our vehicles. If in the future a Special Service Campaign (SSC)/recall or warranty enhancement is issued that would cover your specific issue, and you have already made repairs to the vehicle, Toyota would review your repairs for reimbursement at that time.

Your email has been documented at our National Headquarters under file #1310310403. If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

    Sincerely,

    Megan B.

I wish... frame is rusing inside out. Gotta be replaced. I thought about chopping out the bad spots but in the long run thats not going to work... whole thing will need to be done.
