YES! 0630 Monday mornings; usually only a couple other people there at that time.

Wifey invariably fills up in the middle of the day, and is always telling me how she had to wait for half an hour to get gas.

Top off daily when price is rising. Quarter tank or weekly when price is trending down. Works for me and I might actually save a buck here or there. Makes me feel like I'm gaming the system.lol

I fill up halfway between 3/4 and Full. I'm a poor bastard so if I fill up like this it only cost me around $22.00

I usually fill up at around 1/4 tank. I filled up yesterday at a 1/4 tank and it was still $70 at $4.69 a gallon.

When the light comes on to get gas, I usually fill-up soon. There’s three more gallons so it isn’t an emergency.

$3.99 this morning at Keller Quicktrip.

    Interesting article?

Human kind really is in trouble.

My white paper entitled "How to not eat dog poo, in 6 simple steps!" May just go viral.

I fill it usually at half tank definitely at 1/4.

I was going to get gas yesterday but the place that I usually get fuel from had the tanker filling the underground tanks.
Never get gas when or directly after a fuel delivery,... if there is any water or debris in the tank it is stirred during the fuel dump.

This is usually when the next day after the dump the pump filters start needing to be changed.
Pumps slow down and the filters are cheap (yeah this is common) and you get water/debris in the system,... you hope for the best.

New stations you would think are better and cleaner HOWEVER, they all are clean until they get filled with,....... what comes out of the delivery truck.
It was a big thing when pumps were first invented,. people wanted to SEE what was going into their tanks,... the glass top pumps.

I just go till I run out of gas.
    Back up 5 miles.
    Then head to a station.

1/4 of a tank. Just enough to make sure the trash toyota fuel pump stays cool. Seriously though, with the small size of the tank relative to the fuel mileage, that's way too much time wasted at the pumps to be filling up at half a tank.

In hurricane season,,... in a hurricane State...
You learn FAST how hard it can be to get fuel when the power goes out.

Its a law in Florida if you have a fuel station on an evacuation route it WILL have emergency generator access.
Then its 5 gallons per customer,....

I usually get gas @ 1/4 tank, unless I see the price drop, then I'll fill it up at even a 1/2 tank or less.

If they are calling for a thunder storm, then I go fill up before the shit hits the fan. And I always have a big gas container at home for the Generator. I won't keep gas more than a year, so if it doesn't get used in the Generator, I'll throw it in the truck tank, and go fill the gas container again.

This shit seems to be happening more than ever these days, so I'm starting to believe it climate change.

    Depends:

    Normally: around 1/4.
Possible disaster: fill it unless it's above 3/4.
(DTE - 50 miles) less than next gas station: fill it regardless. Next gas station will be overpriced. They know they can price it high.

    1. Filler up at half tank.
    2. Don't top off (can cause evap canister problems or check engine lights and the person on the other side of the pump has to deal with your hose clicking spasms)
    3. Avoid filling up when it's hot out as you'll get more fumes and less fuel
    4. Use a credit card with rewards points or a grocery store gas station with rewards. Costco seems to have better gas prices than most in my area.
    5. X2 on waiting after fuel trucks fill up the station tanks or you'll fill your tank with sediment.
    6. If you're in a hotrod or muscle car you have to rip a fat burnout down the street after filling up; it's state law.

    Class dismissed. :burnrubber:

I fill at half-tank in winter. Otherwise, fill when it tells me.
