Rumble/shudder/vibration. HELP

I've been non-stop digging to try and find someone who has had the same problem as me.
(I also posted this in another thread, but that one was more related to braking vibrations)

I feel like my issue is different. I get a VERY noticeable shudder/rumble/vibration on ACCELERATION at low rpms.

For me, it's not during braking at all (like the other ones i see), but on light acceleration, when sort of "lugging" the engine in a lower rpm. I feels exactly like driving over a rumble strip at around 25 ish mph.

I've attached a video of me driving this morning, so you can see where my speed and RPMs are. Like I said, its on a more mellow acceleration, and doesn't happen when I put more throttle into.

I have a ecgs that I will installing soon as well to fix the OTHER vibration that I'm dealing with. This truck is proving to be a nightmare.

did it do it before lift and tires?. if not then you know what is causing it.

 

Spark plugs???
Fuel pump???

 

i had a similar vibration post lift. i installed a OME carrier bearing drop and ECGS busing. Seems to have solved the issue.

 

It didn't do it before the lift and tires. I've driven with these NEW tires for a few weeks before it started, (i just replaced Nitto Terra Graplers, same size). I have a really hard time thinking its tire related because it only happens at low speed and not at higher speed. It also only happens when accelerating in a mellow fashion. When i take off with a little more throttle its drives just fine.
I'm still going to go and get these rebalanced just in case to try and rule them out.

 

I have the OME carrier bearing drop kit on its way right now. (fingers crossed) Its less of a vibration, as its more of a shake or shudder.

 

Does it feel like it is coming from the front or rear of the truck?

 

Honestly, I just feel it all over. So maybe Central I guess?

It's not like my CV axle vibration where I can really tell exactly where thats coming from.

 

Have you checked your pinion angle?

 

The Carrier bearing may help you then, Its a super easy install.

 

It "looks" good, but I don't actually know the correct way to measure if it's too far off or not.

Also, the truck has been lifted for almost a year now and this week is the first the problem started showing up.
Would a incorrect pinion angle develop problems over time?

 

A bad pinion angle would show up the instant you first started driving it.

You've got something else going on. I would agree with MemphisTaco here... try the carrier bearing and ECGS first. If that doesn't work, try change the tranny fluid if you haven't already (if auto).

 

Part of me thinks it could be torque converter related as well....

I have not changed the tranny fluid since I've owned the truck (I purchased this from a dealership about a 14 months ago with 60k miles on it) Thats next on the list.

Since i'm coming up on 75k I'm wondering if it's due time. Who knows if the dealership (probably not) or previous owner replaced it before I got it.

Also, with these trucks crazy shifting and gear hunting, it could break down the fluid a little faster than most?..

 

These transmissions are generally bulletproof. TC shudder is not a common problem with them so far as I know. If yours is shuddering, its possible the previous owner toasted it and/or didn't change the fluid.

If it were me, I'd narrow your issue down to carrier bearing, ECGS or TC shudder. Change that fluid though.

 

I would not go more than 60,000...
Slip-controlled torque converters are sensitive to fluid condition.

 

I think I put too much faith in the dealership doing that when I purchased the truck (the truck had exactly 60k on it when I got it) I’m heading to the shop tonight hopefully to change it out.

 

Ever find the solution to this problem? Mine just started doing this as well after owning the truck for months. I have no lift currently only some AT tires.

 

I installed some 8mm carrier bearing spacers and it seemed to do the trick. I think they were like $15 and it took like 10 minutes to do. I’m certain mine was caused by my lift and tires.

 

Sorry to dig this up again, but is there any way you can get a degree finder on your drive shafts? I have the same shudder but my 8mm carrier bearing drop didn't seem to do the trick.

 

I'd try the ECGS bushing swap. Similarly, I had a vibration still after the carrier bearing drop. Replacing the needle bearing with the ECGS clamshell solved this for me.
