    Nope.

My truck should be home in the garage. Maybe I should be worried :p

I love those seats! Still one of the best things I've done for that truck. In fact, I just got in on the Wet Okole group buy, so they'll be good as new here in a few weeks!

I bought my 2003 WRX seats from @Tacofire98 a while back. Paid $300 for them, I think, wasn't it, Jake?

I love them. The only thing I would look into down the road would be to lower them, which would most likely mean ditching the slides and making them fixed. That's just because I'm a bigger dude, and my head is like an inch from the roof.

Well the first set I built I got for $200. Very clean seats, I ended up selling those to Jason. Second set I got for $150, driver's side had a little tear and a little more used.
I built the second set different. Much more to my liking. 1st set I chopped up and reused the WRX mounts, honestly wasn't too bad. 2nd time I cut the feet off and ground down the rails, making them pritty flat. Then popped over Tacoma mounts I had off some extra rails. This made the seat sit at a less tilted back, which I like a lot more. That was the reason I ditched them the 1st time. I don't think I'll ever get new seats again, and they match my gray interior fairly well.

beautiful truck, your build is moving fast lol, a couple questions about tubbing for 35s, not that i can do it anytime soon just curious.
When you tubbed the drivers side did you have to change the way you push the clutch in? like could you still get your whole foot on there and go all the way down or do you have to use the edge of your foot? My brother cut and replaced a big chunk of floor because it was rusty and now driving its kinda uncomfortable to drive because you have to push the clutch to the floor with your toe or the edge of your shoe. And also in the pics where you are checking the clearance at the very end after tubbing all of it, it almost looks like you didnt have the fenders trimmed yet? Is it possible to tuck 35s without trimming the fenders and just tossing the flares?

Awesome! Thanks Gents! I'm looking at a set of leather ones for 200 out of an 03. Tan colored exactly like the truck.

    Thanks, Jim!

The tubbing didn't affect the clutch at all. The only thing that's really changed is that everything is further back on the far left side there. It amounts to losing a little bit of foot room, but not much.

As for the fenders, I would say no. You definitely have to trim the fenders, especially the rear of the fender by the door hinge. Same for the bedsides. Just part of the fun of tubbing.

I got a little creative with my flares because I really like the look of the truck better with them mounted. I have pretty decent tire poke because I'm running spacers, so without the flares I was sticking out at least 4". With them on there after I trimmed them, they still stick out about 2".

Here are the posts where I trimmed the flares and closed everything out with some kydex.

How far back does it sit? If you went lower wouldn't you lose leg room? My external speaker kinda makes my head at risk for some damage if I get t-boned. I can probably move it back too but I wanted to see if different seats might help.

    Thanks, man!
I appreciate that, Jim! It's been a really slow process, but my hope is that it's at least well thought out.
I'll have to take a look, Mike. That's a good point.

I'm fine with them where they are. I'd just dial the mounting in a bit more at some point. Squeezing my 6'2" 240# ass into my 1st Gen is pretty ridiculous, but I love it, so I'll deal with it!

    Goals

I've shown this to a few of you guys, and the design is still in process, but this is where I want to get to soon.

It leaves the entire bed open for other gear, and it takes care of the need for a swing out, which I've never really liked. All of that space under the bed rack is unused anyway. And most of the time it'll just be the spare and tools/recovery gear, so I can still go light(er) and fast(er).

I know i'm sure you have read me say this..

but as cool as the taller bed rack is and yes packing and hauling shit is way easier...

the truck will drive 100% better the lower you can get your shit. Granted...that point is mute if you don't like hauling ass (like me :anonymous:) but if you do...you'll never want to take a corner at speed with all that up high like that ever.

Just something to think about. Looks like a sweet setup.
