    definitely in the 8, 9, 10 range.
I've had the 9k for several years now, always did the job that was asked of it and never complained.
I had a Smittybilt 8k on the front of the Taco first, and it's definitely the bare minimum that you want. It did the job though.
10k would be great if you can handle the long term extra weight that it has.
If 12k was the best, then everybody would run one from the 4banger Suzuki to the V8 GM, Ford, Chrysler product of your choice. Front end weight is a factor that must be considered on all makes of vehicle. I mean, besides the ball joints, you don't want to overweight the front too much from the rear. 60/40 is about as much as you really want to go and 50/50 is ideal with recovery and camping gear on board too. But that's mostly my opinion too.

Since she's basically roadworthy now, and since we had a full day of sunshine, I decided to give her a wash. And the sweet new satoshi from @HomerTaco was far too clean next to the dirty ass hood, so something had to be done.

I say she cleans up damn nice!

    Thanks, Ryan!

I definitely want the in-cab control with a master kill switch, as well as a remote. The ComeUp Seal Gen2 9.5rs has a wireless remote, but I'm torn with regards to trusting it. I need to investigate further, and if it means relocating the wired socket into the cab, I'm totally fine with that.
    I never overdo it!!! :D

I totally agree. I'm really starting to like the looks of the Seal 9.5rs. Weight wise, the Seal 12.5rs and Seal 9.5rs are both 63-67 pounds with synth line, while the M12-s is nearly 90 pounds. So the added capacity isn't exactly coming with a stiff weight penalty for the ComeUp winches, but definitely for the Warn, strangely enough.

And a snatchblock is definitely going to be part of my kit. When the time comes, I'd really appreciate your input on what that kit should look like.
I agree, and thanks for chiming in!

As much as it might seem like it, I really don't want this thing to be an expo pig. As I get more use out of it, I'll continue to refine my loadout based on what actually gets used.

That said, I'll always have a few luxury items like the RTT to make the experience more enjoyable.
Looks like the Seal 9.5rs will work both ways, but this is the spec list for the 12.5rs:

    I'm all about those, Ray!

Seriously. I absolutely HATE the side marker lights on these trucks. Love how yours turned out too!

Hmm. Never heard of that. Who makes them? My newly completed color matched/blinker relocated corners filled with water the first time I had them off-road.

    :(

I got mine from a friend here that had a set laying around. But if you google one piece headlights for 01-04 tacoma you'll find them. Shop around of course for the best price. They have different options on chrome, black, blackout and ect...

Yes. So far. They are still fairly new. On the lower section of the housing and front lens you'll have to seal them with silicone. I've read that they get water in them but if you seal them they do fine. So that's what I did for the little bit of insurance.

    I have washer fluid again!!!

Thanks to @Delta00 for pointing me to the sweet reservoir with the built in pump. It'll be nice to have a clean windshield other than right after I fill up the truck.
