Hey, @Star-Lord! I wheeled it today!

Took the lady up to Rollins Pass from the east today. Easy dirt roads and many incredible views. Also saw some nice looking camping spots.

True story, I've seen it. On the west side, not sure if it ever made it to the top though.

I did have it in 4WD! But I usually do that on all but the tamest dirt roads anyway.

This trip was more for the views and to get the fuck outta the city, and it certainly didn't disappoint. It was absolutely gorgeous up there, and the weather was perfect. I wanna do the west side and check out the trestles and stuff at some point.

@Reh5108, let me know when you get your motor back together and we'll see if we can do Spring Creek. Not sure if it's hardcore enough for these badasses, but it sounds like fun.

Nothing super crazy, but I got my UltraGauge mounted up. Next thing to do is the distance calibration so that I can get a reliable speed reading.

185-190, and it's solid. That was one of the big reasons I wanted the UG, along with a corrected speed.

I like the UG display better than my SG. Looks good.

It is big though. The only thing my SG blocks from view is the seatbelt warning light. Is it in your way there?

It probably is, but I'm not too worried about it. I'm pretty religious about wearing my seatbelt. I'll have to check and see if I can still see the brake light without looking over the UG.

I saw you got your speed nailed down. That's awesome. I'm looking forward to setting my cruise knowing it's actually the correct speed.

Having the seatbelt light covered is a plus in my book. I always wear it on the road, but don't like seeing the light while putting around off-road.

Cruise control... Must be nice. Ha ha.

Not a bad thing to have off road either. I've seen plenty of videos of slow speed rollovers ejecting the occupants. If I'm in a spot where I know it's going to lock up and I need to see I'll put the shoulder strap behind me so I still have the lap belt to hold me if the worst were to happen.

Plain everything. Windows, locks, no cruise, no map lights. But bet your ass it came with a clock. Ha ha.

Definitely. Was more referring to piddling around the farm, hunting, day to day "off-roading" rather than wheeling.

This is is exactly what I do. That damn seat belt always locks up at the wrong time, and I don't want to have to take it off entirely just to get the shoulder strap off.

But for putting around on safe trails, I don't see going without one as a problem. It's just such a habit now that I don't even notice. Even with the shitty lap belt in my Jeep that I only drive twice a year, it's still the first thing I do before I start it up.

It's just less weight. And more room in the engine bay. I do enjoy using cruise the few times I can. Just wish Toyota would have been a little more efficient with space in the engine bay.

Dude, I'd almost rather have the manual locks and windows, just to not have to worry about them failing and being more of a PITA to fix. But cruise is so damn nice!
I get that. But even on relatively tame trails out here, there is often at least some exposure. Like the trail I was on last weekend. It was an old railroad grade and not technical at all, but on some sections, if you got over too far or the road washed out at the wrong time, you're having a very bad day.

Hey Ryan, just curious, but how big of an ass pain would it be to do a 3.4 swap if your motor is too tired to spend more money on?

I'll admit, I have no clue about this. Just wondering.
