    Back from the grand adventure!

All in all, that was one of the absolute best trips of my life. So much fun. The truck did great, but I did hit the wall of my own capabilities as well as those of the truck. Not the truck’s fault at all, just me still learning.

    Damage report:

    - one bent driver side axle SHAFT
    - very taxed coilover springs

And that’s it! The rear axle sucks. That is almost certainly due to me outdriving my rear suspension, on top of the fact that I’m a dumbass and got lazy and didn’t set up my rear bumps like I should have. Live and learn.

I have a shit ton of pics to go through, and when I’m done I’ll post up a trip report. One of the coolest parts of this trip was the two days that I camped alone after the Kokopelli and finally played with my new DSLR. I am well and truly hooked now. Thanks again, @NYCO! Your 60D found a good home!

The truck was suuuuuuuper dusty after all of the desert miles, much of which was as tail gunner. On top of that, I hit snow and ice on Vail Pass and at the tunnel on the way back. She was a dirty, dirty girl! As soon as I got her unloaded it was off to the car wash. $15 later, she’s as sexy as ever!

Stay tuned! More to come, for sure!

    NOT the housing, thank god.

Just the shaft. It was painful, but there’s surgery for that.

Good! Moab is a good place for that

Now you're screwed though. Won't be able to not take pictures all the time and it'll have to be with the DSLR haha

Haha! I was stopping like an idiot every 100 feet on the way back home. Still have a looooong way to go, but I feel like I can shoot manual decent enough now. Once I get everything sorted and up on Flickr, I’ll have you take a look.

Nice! The layout of the 60d makes manual shooting great.

Look forward to the results. Are you also going to edit them?

    Nah edit first!

The unprocessed ones will be flat. Those are good to see your perspective but half of it is how you see colors and editing too. You can change a whole photo with the editing.

But really doesn't matter :p either way the more you do it the better you'll get.

I’ll let you know when I get them up! I’m still having issues getting my phone and laptop to see my EyeFi card.

I’ve been driving on a bent shaft for some time now. No biggie. But your tire will hate you. Make sure your lugs nuts are tight to keep the wheel from ovalling out where the lug nuts sit.

Glad you had a great time. Saw you wheeled with Brett. Fun lad to wheel with. for pics.
