After a year of driving my 2016, I've found that it's easiest to keep ECT off and have learned how the tranny shifts. You just gotta get used to the feel of how it shifts and put the pedal down a bit harder than you think you have to, but I've gotten used to it. I was using ECT when I first bought the truck cuz I just hated the transmission and how it seemed like it never was in the right gear. But it just took some getting used to is all. ECT is a bit too much for just driving around, it makes the pedal too touchy for acceleration. I don't know, just my two cents. Overall, though, I wish I bought the manual.

Same here - I still use S4 mode though in traffic and shift up if I hit a long stretch. ECT is too aggressive unless you're on hilly terrain or want play. But I do use ECT on a busy highway. I've had too many close calls waiting for the correct gear trying to pass in D.
