Over the next week, pop the rad once a day and check the level. Park nose up if you can to let the air rise to the top. Just to ensure there’s no air pockets.

This is actually how I burp mine. On driveway incline plus the front jacked up. Engine running. Every little bit helps.

I have a culvert in my front yard that drops a significant amount. I had it running nose up in that ditch for ~10 minutes after the final refill w/the heater going.

Found my fix... unplugged my scan gauge. Haha makes for a much more relaxed drive.

In other news, picked up my 80 after having the entire cooling system done, radiator, hoses, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch. Less than 100 miles later the fan shroud must have come loose, hitting the fan and sending a piece of the shroud into the brand new radiator. Had it towed back to the shop and they will be replacing the radiator, shroud and fan on their dime.

When I recover from this endeavor I’ll look into the Tacoma’s cooling system. 1 cooling system at a time.

Right after I picked up the 80...

That’s sucks! At least they’re taking responsibility. On my 80, the biggest temp difference maker was more/heavier fan clutch fluid. A snorkel will help as well because the IAT’s are so high on them (mine often got about 150 degrees) and the snorkel will lower IAT temps by a large margin.

Yeah I wanted the blue hub fan clutch from wits end but it’s currently unavailable, will end up getting that down the road or changing out the oil in the other new fan clutch I got. I really didn’t want to add a snorkel to the 80 but I keep hearing it does improve temps and after seeing those 140+ iat might have changed my mind.

    It is an optical illusion.

I put brand new coolant in and it looks brown in the radiator. I pumped some out and it was pink lol.

Last time I drove on the hwy it was about 100* and I had the ac on full blast, my temp kept rising until about 210. I have replaced EVERYTHING besides the radiator, which will be next as mine was pretty filthy when I removed the condenser to wash it the other day
