    Did you ever check timing?

Did you use pigtails from FIC? If so, they are very easy to mix up since the pigtails can reach a different cylinder plug. I almost screwed mine up after installing some 650s.

Yeah. Still no report on timing.

OP @Turdyota3000 if you have a scanner hook it up and check out a PID labeled "spark advance." It should read in the single or 10-20 double digits at idle. If it does not that will confirm your chain is off timing and the valve covers will definitely have to come off.

All the pigtails looked the same to me. I didn’t know there was a difference?

They are the same, but the extension of the pigtails makes it possible to mistakenly plug into another firing order. Whereas without them, you stock harness won’t reach any other injector but its correct cylinder.

Just trying to help. Not really sure why you keep bumping the thread but won’t go through the troubleshooting process that people are offering. I doubt there is a magic bullet that someone will identify for you without understanding your situation fully. I understand your disgust and frustration, especially involving two jasper engines, but it doesn’t appear as though you want to troubleshoot through the critical path.

I don’t have the means or knowledge to check timing and I am trying what has been said here.

Ok, so who installed the engine for you? And why do you gaff off suggestions like checking the injector configuration? If you can’t check timing then you probably can’t check fuel pressure either. If this is the case then you probably need to find another mechanic or bite the bullet and call the Toyota dealership. There isn’t a magic bullet solution here that anybody can direct you to from this forum if you aren’t capable of working through a troubleshooting sequence. I know you were hoping to just swap out a bad sensor and perhaps that is the case, but it is highly unlikely you will get that from here. You will just end up tossing more money into swapping out good parts.

Just trying to troubleshoot what I can FOR FREE at the moment and search for knowledge. Question if anyone has experienced this before. If it is upsetting you because I’m bumping to the top for a real problem and not asking which wheels should I get is or what rack is the best then I apologize I’m ruining your day. I’m having a real expensive problem going on and I’m looking for help.

With all of the sensors unplugged the engine is still rich per exhaust smell. Still idles rough.

No need to apologize, just would help to have known if you weren’t capable of something after suggesting it, than waiting for negative response.

    Good luck.

There was nothing negative with my response. I don’t know how you took it but I was only stating that I was pretty sure the were installed correctly.

If you can't check timing manually or have access to a scanner to check timing digitally due to a lack of resources or knowledge, or tools, or all of the above then you need to take it to a mechanic to have them diagnose it for you and possibly have them start in the areas that have been suggested to you as a lot of other things seemed to have been eliminated as of right now.

No one else can help you any further if you are at a standstill and this thread will not progress due to that same standstill.

I feel your pain. I would be pissed as well with all you’re going through. I am constantly gathering knowledge here. My whole premise is just that without being able to walk through a critical path troubleshooting process you are going to be shooting in the dark. I really do hope the best for you, but I think you may only be disappointed here. No hurt feelings, just don’t know how much we can help.
