I have been searching for a while but have not found what I am looking for yet.

Is there an easy way to run power wires into the bed on my 97 without cutting a hole in the bed somewhere?

Looking at adding some charging ports and lights to my topper.

    Check under your driver's seat.

My '04 has something like this. I would think the '97 does too. In through the firewall and out through there.

EDIT: Forgot this part - then along the frame and up under the bed rail. A good time to look for problems while you're running the wire.

That doesn't really answer my question. I was asking about holes in the bed. Thanks though.

You should be able to run wires under the bed and up to the tail light area, inside the bed corner you would be able to run wires through from the tail light area and into the bed. look where the wires go for your 3rd brake light on the topper.

I thought that's basically what I said. I guess I didn't mention you can pull wire through the corner of the bed rail. I can't speak on a '97. I just assume they are identical to '04s in some respects, this being one of them.

There are small slits at the bottom of the bed along the side that sits against the cab to allow water to drain. You could use those to run your wires

Why? The bed already has holes to drain water from. One more is insignificant.

Bring it in at a position that is most functional. Select a diameter that allows a rubber grommet to be installed after you paint the edges of the hole, and pull your wires through the grommet.
