Hi all, i'm new to posting on forums like these although i read them all the time. I recently just purchased my 2019 Tacoma cash and i'm upset. The vehicle has not 4.5k miles on it and there is already some rust on the chrome, the paint, and on the frame. I live in Michigan and i purchased the vehicle in November.. so it did see some salt and snow. I've taking the vehicle through the automated wash 4 times now since then and the wash provides some protection but nothing like applying wax myself.

The truck is a 4x4 extended cab long bed, charcoal grey.

I guess what i'm trying to say is.. does anyone else have this issue? With such a new vehicle? Is there some sort of warranty that i can redeem to get the paint touched and the frame coated? I'm confused because my 96 Tacoma is still in great shape and it deals with the Michigan winters as well.

I also had some rust right after purchasing it. Turned out to be contaminants on top of the truck but not the actual truck rusting. Maybe your rust is like mine was. Post some pictures to better assess your rust.

Chrome?? What chrome? the bumpers are plastic, and the "chrome" surround on the grill is aluminum.

I saw bits of rust under my truck starting at 500 miles but it was very small and didnt care. It happens. I'm glad I live in california where humidity and snow isnt a problem.

Yup, Tacos have rust along the welds typically underneath. If you don’t like it, there are ways to manage it.

all vehicles have that initial rusting of iron underneath except where specially painted or coated

OP is referring to paint and chrome accents which should not be showing any rust this early, or ever really. need pics

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Pick up a good car wash soap and a synthetic clay bar on your way home. Good luck!
