New member here and new to Toyotas. After 40 years of driving mostly GM and Ford I've bought a Tacoma like I've always admired, a 2024 TRD Sport 6M. Living near the ocean on the east cost of Canada we have a lot of messy winters combined with salt water spray plus lots of road salt. I've always had Rust Check applied to vehicles I've bought new and swear by its ability to keep them like new for years, corrosion-wise. When I bought the 2024 this past April I had Toyota's rust protection applied, (the version with the lifetime warranty if you have it re-applied every two years) but given my great experience with Rust Check I'm thinking of having it applied every year in addition to Toyota's. My question is, are there any potential issues here, or is Toyota's protection sufficient?

^Got pictures of the dealership undercoating? If it's the black rubberized shit I used to see displayed in the showrooms in Toronto, that's death for your vehicle within 10 years.

I don't have pictures, but it's not the rubber coating, I've seen that stuff before. Your right, it's horrible! What I have is an oily substance much like Rust Check's, there are also plugged holes in body panels the same as theirs.

^In that case just examine the high-washout areas before winter next year and see if touchups are needed. If needed, go get it sprayed at Rust Check.
