Just bought my 1st Tacoma and discovered massive amounts of rust! It's a 1997, body and interior are great however the frame is not. Totally stocked how bad frame is. Still haven't registered it in my name yet plan on doing it tomorrow. Any suggestions on what to do?. Am I stuck with a rust bucket? I live in middle of nowhere ,two hours from nearest Toyota dealership. I won't drive it the way it is,and so lucky it didn't break in half on my home. I thought I got a good deal for the money but not so sure. Would really appreciate any feedback, thanks

Welcome and sadly you might be shit out of luck on any help from Toyota. Call Toyota Corporate and see what they say. Post some pics of how bad it is please.

Sorry for your misfortune, but thank you for sharing the value of a pre purchase inspection!! Not suggesting a dealer needed involvement, but any vehicle, and especially one almost 20, needs that effort.

If you bought from a dealer, you might be able to return it under a lemon law if your state has such.

If you bought it from an individual, and they have 'as is, where is' on the receipt, it's your's.

If the vehicle checks out well otherwise, you might look for a solid frame in a junkyard. Or look for a compatible truck that has been totaled (w/o frame damage), a broken driveline, etc, and put two together to make one.

    Best of luck!
