Hello Taco nuts... I've got some very small rust spots on my tailgate maybe the size of bb's. What's the best (and easiest) way to fix them now before they get bigger. I was thinking about sanding the spot and then using a paint pen over them. Will that work? Thanx in advance for your help.

can you post up some pics?

are you sure its actual rust? alot of times things like rail dust can sit on the surface and rust and you can remove with a claybar and polish.

Naval jelly (phosphoric acid) to neutralize the rust. Rinse, dry, and apply touchup paint. Easiest way to use the touchup paint is to apply with the torn end of a paper match. When you touch the paper "brush" to the chip the paint flows into the chip.

Thanx for the replies. The torn match sounds perfect.
