Agreed, you're looking at used 2nd gens with decent mileage at that point once you start approaching $20k. I was set on a 1st gen though cause I love the compact truck look (also more practical for daily driving in the city). RIP compact trucks

The issue with these frames is they rust from the inside out. It may just be surface rust on the outside but you have to wonder what the inside looks like. I always tap on the frame with a hammer before purchasing. Maybe a member here that's local to the truck can check it out for you. I have 2 silver 04 TRD extra cab 4x4's. My lifted one is rock solid, not even any surface rust & my stock one I bought from a fellow TW member in PA for $600 with 2 rusted areas on the pass side framerail. I had a local maryland TW member cut out & weld in new metal for me.

Nope! Told the guys wife I liked the truck and she said he might sell it in a few months to get a family car. I asked how much she was thinking and she said $600-$700, and I gave her my number. Husband called me that night and I test drove it the next day and he said he wanted a $1,000, I countered with $650 and he said lowest he could do was $750 since thats what he had in tires in it and they only had 3,000 miles on them. I didn't know how much these things went for until I started looking around on here at the local craigslist after I bought mine. I got super lucky!
