Rust on the inside of my doors of my 21'

I was investigating a door latch squeak the other day and i was pulling plugs to see if i could find anything to help me. Instead I found some rust on the inside of my doors (passenger side too) which i feel is excessive for a new vehicle. I haven't driven through water nor has it been exposed to salt (California) so i am a bit concerned. could you guys check your trucks for the same problem? I assume it is from when rain water gets in there and touches an uncoated surface its also happening on what appears to be an overlap where i presume two pieces of the door come together during manufacture. i have attached pics and a vid for reference.

Check the drains at the bottom of the door and make sure they’re not clogged for some reason

 

drains are clear, i check them quite often

 

Get some amber rustproofing and spray it in there. Will prevent any rust.

To be fair though, that looks mild and cosmetic. Probably would never know about it for the length you owned your truck had you not gone looking... Note, don't look under your dash.

 

I’m starting to hit parts of my truck and trailer with PB Silicone spray lube. It dries over night, might be worth shooting on those raw edges. Bummer Toyota’s attention to detail is struggling.

 

lol yup i cant imagine under the dash all those uncoated stamped steel peices, i saw a video of a 1 year old tesla under the dash and it was all rusted already, i assume our trucks are no different.

 

Under my driver and passenger seats were rusted. I noticed it a week after I bought the thing last spring.

 

Ziebart will kill the truck before it turns 10 years old.

where abouts rusted? like the seat frame?

 

yeah it's been a while since i looked under there, but from what i recall it was the part of the frame that was visible and where it attaches to the floor (or to the frame?)

I have the same issue on the inside of my rockers of my 2019.

 

Funny my brother had ziebart done back in 77 when he bought his new trans am. Granted his car has never seen a winter, but theres not a spec of rust anywhere you can find. Looking at the rust inhibitor that was used at the time....looks exactly like cosmoline....its a thick brownish/yellow waxy substance.

 

Get your dealer to make a note of it.

My brand new SO bought 11-1984 GMC Sierra K3500SRW got it done and has the least amount of rust of any OBS plow/farm truck I have seen.
I wonder what changed.

Grab a couple cans of 3M Cavity Wax Plus along with the application wand kit. Wait for a hot day, pull the ALL the drain plugs, lay out some cardboard to catch the drippins.
