Here's a question....has anyone had any issues with rust on the roof between the gutters? I bought my '05 used and it was not visible at the time. I have done some research and I think I'll paint it myself rather than pay the $700 + that I have been quoted. Has anyone used a Line X or similar product on the roof to overcome scratching from canoes/ kayaks, etc. ? Color is Black Sand Pearl so a close match should not be a problem. Thoughts?

I would Line-X its much cheaper and then makes it so you don't have to clean/polish/seal it anymore.

YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE ALL THE RUST IS 100% GONE BEFORE LINE-X though. This is critical. Line-X dealers may or may not do this for you.

If you will have holes in the panel after sanding the panel then you'll need a new roof.
