Hi, I was doing a general inspection of my oil level. I checked the oil cap and noticed that there were rust particles and a little moisture coming out of my cap do you have any idea if this is normal or not. I read on other forums that this could be completely normal in winter, thank you.

I had that on a VW I owned. Sold it when it had 280,000 miles on it. Never burned oil between changes unless I went over 100 mph. Allegedly.

Condensation is completely normal and that's a minimal amount to be honest.

it's a condition of being an internal combustion design. if you had sprung for the electric model, you wouldn't have this problem!

Are you making many short trips without the engine get to operating temperature? If so try to occasionally make longer trips.

Whatever you do don't look down the oil filler tube lol. I don't have winters so it must be normal everywhere. I'm sure it has to do with the filler being a tube and an area for vapors to get trapped.

This equation is undefeated in the real world and is accelerated when heat and salt (even in the tiniest of quantities) are added.

That's perfectly normal, but I would make sure that cap is screwed on tight.

In a cold climate, I would change oil after winter is gone and regularily take some longer highway trips to burn out any condensation.
Before pvc systems when there were only road draft tubes, one would have the oil dipstick full of a milky froth.
And that was before synthetic oil. No wonder engines didn't last nearly as long.

Darn good points. My 1st car had the down draft tube.

Don’t forget cast iron rings, o-ring valve seals and non hardened valve seats.
