    OP,great consolidation of info.
I like fluid film for internal frame coating.
Fyi,Toyota has 28 plugs referenced in doc for completing frame swap due to rust.
Am still researching coating for frame & undercarriage after my frame swap is done, but the 3m undercoating spray looks like it may be best.

    wow good work OP

I am looking for the best thing to coat my coil overs and UCAs with to prevent them from rusting. I want it to dry similar to the waxy type products so it doesn't attract dirt like the fluid film has done.

I live in dry, sunny, colorful Colorado--my '99 Tacoma has some basic surface rust in minor spots on the frame (nothing pitted)

I was told not to do a frame seal because it will end up 'trapping' moisture in the frame railing, furthering the rust factor.

A petrol based rust inhibitor inside frame rails is what I was told is a safe bet for a frame that isn't BRAND NEW

Truck will forever live in the high mountains of Colorado--never any salt, just dirt roads, rock trails, highway miles, snow.

What is the best preventative rust applicator?

..is the best truly, "..just keep it clean, and you're good to go" ...???

Thanks for this thread. I'm getting a new 2015 in 6-8 weeks and seeing as I live in an area where they salt the roads I will be treating a brand new truck with something. Not sure what yet, but I will need to read up more on what to use.

My limited research to date supports DoorDing's statement that most oil-based crcs will probably be effective to some degree, certainly better than doing nothing. I think one of the keys is to start early, before rust has a chance to get a foothold. Although oil-based crcs will require periodic reapplication, especially areas facing the wheel wells, consider it a labor of love; besides, all true Americans love to ride the creeper!

Went the Rust Cure 3000 route this weekend. I have some surface rust I needed to deal with.

I am preferring this over the Por 15 encapsulation type treatments until I'm sure I have neutralized the existing rust. I think this is especially important in the seams and welds where rust might get deep in the frame. At any rate this will get me down the road until I can pull the bed and do something more complete.

I just used chassis saver to paint the skid plate on the 4x4 front.
