He's actually planning to do that after we mount them on the truck. No particular reason for waiting, it was just a matter of time and resources in the moment. Just got them stuck together first. Good to note though, thanks for pointing it out.

My new bumper arrived today with all the hardware. It even came with new bulbs. Neat. Might spray it with rustoleum black hammered.

Are those essentially stock height leaf springs or are you adding a lift?

No lift. The springs and rear shackle are all stock height. I don’t know enough about lifts to devise a lift plan yet. Maybe later, pipe dreams.

Rust elimination that seems to be 1 molecule at a time.
    @Jakuku Pahwheenis
I am trying to fix a mess that my truck's original owner had done on his frame. They put the front leaf spring mount on the driver's side in the wrong place.

Can you measure and post the measured distance between the rear shackle mount hole and the front leaf mount hole?

I have already bought one safe-t-cap replacement for the passenger rear upper shock. I am not very happy about them still adding a 15% uplift on their parts. I may try a Rust Buster kit this time. Same price, looks very much the same and 15% cheaper due to Safe-T-Cap's uplift.

Sure I can post measurements when I get to the house. Do you have the long or short wheelbase?

Good, mine is the same except for the year.

I took measurements from my new rails, which matches the measurements on my old rails, so no issues there. I also compared measurements between left and right rails. All things came matching equally.

Distance between forward spring mount and rear shackle mount bolt hole center points: 53 1/8 inches

Distance from rear end of rail to rear edge of rear shackle mount: 5 3/4 inches
    E90B0841-02BA-4251-9595-9BFBA41079AB.jpg

Distance from forward edge of forward spring mount to rear edge of rear cab body mount: 8 inches.

Also, the forward spring mount is almost inline with the tall bed body mount bracket, offset by about 1/4 inch to the front.

    Awesome!
This is extremely helpful and what I was needing.

I may try to find the brackets or remove the ones on it and put them on correctly. Saves $200.

No prob. If yours are not rusted out, I imagine cutting em off and rewelding would be fine. Safetcaps also sell the mounts by themselves if you need them. I’m not using safetcaps because I have new half rails and will be replacing the crossmembers too, but I might get their center bearing crossmember reinforcement pieces , since I can’t find a replacement for that crossmember, that’s the only one that welds to the rails.

I just did this exact same re build. How does the rear brake proportioning valve look? i touched mine and the steel line broke. Found the gas tank cross member on a BIG sale from SALINAS TOYOTA.

I have the gas tank crossmember on its way from Oregon via eBay. Toyotapartsdeal is allegedly sending me a spare tire crossmember whenever they get around to updating my order status.

i haven’t looked at the proportioning valve, but I plan on doing an ABS delete and my end up replacing that valve anyway. Do you have any photos of your project?

I will be replacing my center bearing while I have the rear disassembled. I’m getting the feeling that this may also be a good time to replace the clutch and flywheel too. I think it’s a little slippery.

I used a manually adjustable valve and made all new lines myself. Never done it before but it was pretty straightforward. I wasn't about to replace and adjust all that load bar junk.
