My wife has a brand new highlander with 3000 miles on it. It's been rainy like crazy this past week and this past week only as we have been in a draught here in central Texas this summer, but I just noticed today that it looks like her rotors have rust on them. Am I crazy? I would suspect that I am since the car hasn't even had it's 1st oil change yet. Could this be something else. My inlaws live in sand and we were there last week, but it really looks like rust. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Rust will form on the rotor if the car sits for a day in wet conditions. Its only surface rust, and comes off at the first aplication of the brakes. :) No biggie.

Thanks for the prompt reply Chris and congrats on the promotion! It did come off just as you said after a quick drive, but it's been sitting for 4-6 hours since it was last driven and it's back again. Should I still not be concerned? Thanks!!!!!

Thanks, Man. Nothing to be worried about at all. The surface rust wont hurt anything.
