Rust

update: they talked about if I signed paper work blah blah, but they sold me knowing the rust and it’s a safety hazard on the road. No help from them I’m gonna call around figure stuff out.

 

did they specifically tell you about the rust?
just cuz you sign paper work, stating as is, doesnt mean you cant try....
if you dont want to be that guy, so be it, but not the best approach for your pocket...
That frame is toast & theres "ethics" involved, not just as is....
Liability, reputation, etc....
You need to approach it as such, or not.....
That little tiny 1" strap someone welded on is doing nothing...
Dont waste anymore money on that truck, whatever you do...

Not exhausting trying to reason with a higher-up at the dealer level is foolish.....


Another scenario, if they made you aware of the rust & you signed, thats on you....
They "stole" $14k from you....
Thats a $3500 truck with the frame in that condition along with all the other rusted out components....

 

I can’t get to the boss the fucking little sales reps keep answering my calls and telling me you “you sighed as is” and I told it’s a safety hazard “I’m gonna sue you for selling me a car on false pretense if you can’t help me out here” and the sales rep told me “have you tried selling it to another dealer” they just blew me up in 3 min calls. I’m gonna call Ohio dealer licensing office, I don’t want to use my last savings on a lawyer

 

They knew exactly what they sold you.

 

On they’re post it said “some frame damage but welds seem pretty strong” it was all under coated black then I drove 3k miles in 1 1/2 months I woudl wash the undercarriage to get salt off I live in Ohio so I just sprayed the coating off a revield the carnage

 

you can send multiple head honchos an email from their website, you can talk to the operator & ask to be transferred, you can go in there in person & demand to speak to them.....
Pretty simple....

 

With the frame being damaged the dealer is 2 hours away.

 

I sent emails, this all just one day on a Saturday who knows Monday I’ll try again, they are open 9-2 so I doubt they want to do shit

 

In the used car market it all boils down to buyer beware, these sales people are protected by there contracts and the fact you don’t have the financial resources to fight. Move on and just chalk this up to a life lesson. Next time, you will know what to do.
