A couple years ago I purchased a 1997 Tacoma from a coworker who needed money, the frame ended up being a lot worse then I originally anticipated (my fault for not checking out like i should have) and the truck had been parked ever since. Although the truck probably belongs in a scrap yard I recently decided to do my best to rebuild the frame. Now I am already pretty far into this build but I figured I would share the whole build as I have time.

Here is a picture before of the truck before hand.

I started by tearing the truck down to the bare frame. At which point I realized saving the frame was not going to be possible. The rear of the frame had several rust holes.

Here are some pictures of what followed.

I used POR 15 to paint the front of the frame it bonded very well to the slightly rusty metal surface. The POR 15 metal prep is a must.

    More to come...

at least your '97 did not get as far gone as this local unicorn '97 v6 reg cab
this was still on the roads here a couple months ago!
it had a state patrol notice stuck by the window that said to please remove vehicle from the side of the road

Remind me to stay off the roads where you live. That thing is an accident waiting to happen..
