i’m in one of the states that are covered by this campaign, but have not received my letter yet. A few buddies, locally, have received their letters. Is Toyota doing these letters in batches or is mine lost in the mail? How would i get a copy?

Well, the campaign hasn't actually started yet, so I wouldn't worry too much. The letters folks are getting are basically a "heads up" that a campaign is on the horizon. The mail could be to blame, or, they just have a messed up address for you. Letters aren't actually personalized, but it would not be a bad idea to make sure they have a current address for you. The letter basically states that if you have corrosion now, take it in and they will take care of it, but if not, stand by, they will send a letter out when the campaign actually starts to instruct you to bring your vehicle in for an inspection. If the inspection reveals significant corrosion, they will replace the frame, and if not, they will apply a coating. Either way when that starts to happen, I'm sure folks around here will be all over it, and you will know it's actually happening.

Burn that letter in a pit of flaming Fluid Film.

Don’t let Toyota spray that rubber shit on your frame. It only works in the lab, not when Joey applies it, after coming back from his coffee break.

Of course you won't get the Toyota warranty extension either.

I prefer no coating on the frame. My 2009 was taken for the frame inspection and then given the CRC stuff about a month before it got traded-in on my 2018. That frame had no issues with rust-through.
I don't religiously wash my vehicles and live in a state that makes good use of salt for good reason.

I’d really recommend you do some research. As part of this campaign, Toyota sprays some cavity wax in the front boxed section (mostly agree with this), but they also apply a rubber coating to the frame (I strongly disagree). The rubber coating just serves to hide the corrosion that develops underneath it until the warranty is up.

Good job with the CRC on the Tundra Joey!:

It’s a “cover up job”. Clean your frame and Fluid Film it. Don’t let Toyota do this to your truck.

Thanks for sharing the video. That garbage is definitely not getting sprayed on my frame.

This. Anything that creates a hard barrier will trap water/saltwater. Nothing anyone applies is impermeable, no matter what they, or anyone here, says.

opinions on material used aside, sux they are including Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota, but exclude Iowa that borders all three and shares their winters.
