Heres my story...I received my first letter from Toyota in2008 regarding the frame rust issue. I did exactly as the letter stated and brought my truck to Markquart Toyota, a Certified Toyota dealer in my home town for Inspection. The letter clearly states If no perforation is found they will apply the CRC. They did not. I was told they did not have the product but would call when it came in. Never got a call. I received another letter in 2011, same deal, back to Markquart Toyota told the frame was clean and they DID NOT have the CRC product again. I still have the letters and the invoices from these visits. Fast forward to last week 3/15. While getting the oil changed the Tech noticed two holes in my frame ahead of the left rear wheel. I was completely stunned at what I was seeing! How could it go from perfectly clean to this tragedy in three years?? I was told they were skeptical about lifting the truck on the hoist due to this condition. My first phone call was to the Service Manager at Markquart Toyota and was told there was nothing they could do and gave me the 800 number to Toyotas customer care center. I told my story to the gentleman with Toyota, was put on hold for five minutes and was told again there was nothing they could do for me. I requested the next level of management and was told his supervisor would call me back within 24 hours. Ihave not received a call from Toyota to this point. The extended warranty is a 15 year warranty. My truck is a 2000 year model. Although it is 2015 my truck, I'm told, this particular vehicle first hit the road on 10/12/99. What really pains me with this experience is the fact that I did everything I was supposed to. the dealer did not, Toyota has not. So now I have a truck that is essentially worthless, a safety hazard to its occupants and others on the road and I cant pull my Mastercraft ski boat. How would my insurance company feel about this? If anyone can provide contact information to someone within Toyota that actually cares even a little bit I would certainly appreciate it!

You might want to try an insurance claim. They may cover you, then go after Toyota on your behalf. Frame damage may be covered, ask your agent.

Why didn't you nag the crap out of the dealer in 2008 day after day, week after week until they fixed your truck?

Do you have any form of PROOF that you contacted people (phone records, e-mails, etc., etc.) of YOUR side of the story?

Take it from someone who's stood in front of judges - it doesn't matter what you SAY...the only thing that matters is what you can PROVE.

I can't believe how many people are not taking responsibility for their actions. I'm sorry but "YOU" are the reason your truck didn't get a frame. "YOU" went in twice and they told "YOU" they didn't have the coating. "YOU" knew it had to be sprayed per the recall. Why didn't you call them every week until they got so sick of your calls they would have done it. Every recall on my truck was done within a month after i received the letter in the mail. Why? Because i follow up with a goddamn recall. You are an adult. Toyota told you about the problem and you gave up. I know this sounds harsh but lately the forum has been filled with guys like you that were slacking off and are whining that they don't get new frames.

Really appreciate the advice and Thank You!
The proof thing......other than my slips from the dealership to prove I was there and Toyota's letters that I have the rest was verbal. This just might be one of the prettiest 2000's you have seen particularly when I live in North Central WI. I love the comments I get on the truck. Makes me wonder how far the "frame inspection" actually went. I'm going to keep pushing this like a little whiny bitch hoping to get a little something. Reality is if the truck was still in the 15 year warranty I would get 1.5x KBB highest value (excluding mileage I was told) which translates to about 15k, I would take 10k and buy a brand new tomorrow given the chance...
Regardless of the issue I know there is no better truck on the road, or off!!!

    Hey Polack...
I'll take the beating and deserve so. Honestly I thought I had the "exception" out there
    I was WRONG!
Worst case scenario... I'm going start grinding and weld 1/4" plates in the problem areas and it will be far stronger than it ever was!

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Call the Attorney Generals office [IMG] and open a file with them (it is free to you compliments of your taxes) tell them your story and supply copies of the Toyota paperwork. Let the big dogs take care of them. I'd LOVE to be a fly on the wall at the dealership when they get this telephone call.

You don't REALLY think the A.G. is doing to do anything...do you??? They're going to say the same things we've all said, "Why didn't you follow up?", etc., etc., etc. Further, the dealer could show evidence that they follow certain protocol that they contact everyone, etc., etc.

Calling the A.G. would be a waste of time - you'll probably hear them choking when they say, "I'm sorry - I damn near choked on my coffee as I was laughing..."

No Troll. I just tell it like it is and don't sugar coat shit. Even the OP said he deserved it.

OP, Do exactly what you're planning. Remove the box, clean the area really well, and weld on some 1/4 plating. then coat it thoroughly with POR15. If you really have the time keep trying to get a new frame. But like i said i doubt it'll happen.

He did follow up several times. Then the dealership allowed his unsafe vehicle to be driven off the lot. I believe it's called reckless endangerment and that is a criminal act. Keep choking on your coffee.

Even if they did the coating you are out of warranty. 15 years from the in service date. Your done bud, expect nothing. Cold hard truth.

    No soup for you!

    Yeah...good luck with that.

It doesn't matter how many times he followed up - that's irrelevant. He was given the opportunity to have the truck fixed...but (sadly) didn't!

While it's entertaining to think you can blame someone else, the dealership doesn't have a responsibility to babysit you - only to notify you...which they did, more than once!

    Get it???

The DMV will not safety a vehicle with a burnt out license plate bulb but Marquart Toyota after failing a frame they deem is too unsafe to even put on a lift can toss the keys back to the owner and watch him drive off the lot. Got it.

His vehicle wasn't unsafe at the time! It was rusty. That's why Toyota was trying to be the nice guy and they would coat the frame for you. No criminal act. Only a crazy person with no accountability would call it that.

Toyota didn't fail his frame. When they put it on the lift it was ok. The other place didn't want to lift it. Toyota told him his frame was rusty. They offered to coat it but had to wait till they got the product. He knew it had to be coated but never followed up. Just like the other poster said, even if he had coated it he was outside of the 15 year window. This is a situation where, just like a lot of guys like us in Wisconsin, you have to bight the bullet and plate your frame.

Well, I do have to say that I really appreciate the friendly feedback and bantering. I know we are all big boys and clearly a little smarter than the rest of the world for even knowing what the best vehicles on the planet are. I am on hold with Toyota Customer Care as I type this. I was told I would be called back by a Supervisor within 24hrs last week as was not. I will keep you posted....
You Guys are Great! Certain we could all drink beer together!
