rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
Wire brush with the side grinder. Paint Over Rust, then Bed coat?

Three years of VT salt roads has all the forward facing surfaces blasted clean of paint and primer and rust is the dominant surface finish.

Hmmmm Maybe just slap a coat of linseed oil on 'em....Instant Core-10 ;-)

I need to figure something out as well. Was considering having a shop sand blast them and powder coat. They want hundreds of $$$ though.

I could try a different color....something like "Burnt Umber" might go well with the Barca Red!

Yeah I know. About to buy my own sand blaster haha. I already have a compressor.

Painting over rust isn't going to last. Have to kill it somehow.

Whatever plan you have in mind, make sure to mask off your body so you don’t blast iron and paint chunks into your paint. You will hate yourself.

I touch up trail scars at the end of every off-road season with Tremclad rust reformer primer followed by three coats of Tremclad black semi-gloss. This is an annual task done together with all my other trail armor. I don't bother sanding rusted areas down to bright metal.

    Yeah.
Same with mine. The rust is just surface rust, though, unless you let it go too long. I wash the dirt off, hit them with a scuff pad to take off the surface rust, wipe down with acetone, then hit it with a can of bedliner spray paint. Do it again in a year or 2.
