Try this thread. Again, I can't see youtube videos at work, but I'm fairly certain its the one I used the first time: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/installing-bilstein-5100-without-spring-compressor.547631/

This might be the video in the thread? Not sure but I did use this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E6u7dC7EHg

Whatever method you choose, just make sure you're comfortable with it and have good/proper tools to do the job. In the end, I am sure there are off-road shops around that will do the work for you.

Yeah Tidewater off-road would do it.

Haha, I hear ya. Yeah, we are looking forward to going back...especially now that our kids are adults. Not looking forward to the dreaded Oahu recon inspection though. :censored:

Dang! That has party time written all over it.

Hopefully the inspection is a minimal one.

The inspection is pretty minimal, but it varies depending on the inpspector and you can't have tread sticking out past the flares, have to have mudflaps, etc. Only applies to modified vehicles. It's crazy because you'll see all manner of lifted trucks over there without recon that never get ticked, but then you will also see guys get ticketed for the smallest infraction. I dealt with it years ago when I lived there and was hoping it went away...not so much. Paradise tax I suppose. I will need mudflaps and either aftermarket flares or garden edging, haha.

I have a coil compressor. Use it on my 700lbs springs so it will handle the stiff coils.

Gotcha.. Kinda like here to a point. :D

Paradise tax?... I have never paid into that. it's a shame. Wifey keeps talking about Hawaii. I keep telling her, a beach is a beach. Maybe one day We'll get there.

Nothing real interesting. Have to rebuild the driveshaft, rebuild the coilovers and thinking about changing up the valving, install the catch can and then finish some welding and lighting projects on it.

    In my belly. :D

Edit: in all seriousness, I do have a plan which involves frequent trips to CA during my tour. Thankfully, there are weekly MAC flights that should make the beer runs slightly less expensive.
