    Does anyone have the proper tools to swap coils on struts? the spring compressors I looked at are sketttttchyyyyyy!!

    I tried to buy a real wall-mounted one in an auction when a shop by my office went out of business, but I missed the bid closing. That's not helpful. But I wanted it for just this purpose, to do mine and help folks out. I agree. The wrench versions are sketchy and depending on the spring stiffness might not even work.

    When I swapped out my coils (886 to 888), I just used the floor jack method. I've used that method for 3 lifts so far with great results!

    Please elaborate or provide a link for this process. are you just pushing the bottom of the LC up and then tightening bolts? is that basically it?

    I'd have to search the forum for a link, but I know there is a youtube video for it. I can't get on youtube at work, so can't help you there. You are basically just using the floor jack on the LCA along with the truck's weight to release/compress the spring tension. I'll see if I can find the video on here...
