Has anyone tried these yet?I just ordered a set.Im hoping they aren't as dark as the avs covers and hoping they aren't to difficult to install. They have a tinted wrap,a protective film and then these covers for headlights. Not sure what the difference is between the covers and there other products, the description wasn't that informative but hopefully it's an easy install and good product.

Might as well just open the headlights up and paint them black?

The covers just make it more difficult for others to see your turn signals etc.

That's why I didn't get the avs covers because they are too dark,Im hoping these aren't as dark but I won't be opening them and painting them.If these covers are to dark I'll just leave them the way they are more than likely

By the description on the website I think it's still some sort of precut film but not sure and will definitely post some pictures when I get them

Thinking it's not a great idea to further "darken" these headlights.

I would personally avoid darkening your lamps. Buddy rear ended someone recently pretty hard. Officer deemed the fault of the guy who was hit because his tail lights were blacked out, therefore visibility was obscured. Regardless who's fault it really was, this can just help avoid any technicalities.

Regardless the darkness of the tint, better to keep everything stock. IMHO

From the pics of other vehicles with that tint, they seem pretty dark. Definitely would lessen the light output

Very true. They're just not really bright, bone stock.

Believe it or not you can get factory tinted tail lights from Porsche for $650 on their Cayenne.

Here is a picture with the factory tint

I know OP is talking about headlights, but since others brought up tail lights, you can legally tint the lights if they still put out the legal output of light.

    California law states:
    -Headlight
24407 (a) There shall be an uppermost distribution of light, or composite beam, so aimed and of such intensity as to reveal persons and vehicles at a distance of at least 350 feet ahead for all conditions of loading.

    -Tail light
    24603
    (e) (1) Stoplamps on vehicles manufactured on or after January 1, 1979, shall emit a red light. Stoplamps on vehicles manufactured before January 1, 1979, shall emit a red or yellow light.

    (f) All stoplamps shall be plainly visible and understandable from a distance of 300 feet from the rear of the vehicle both during normal sunlight and at nighttime, except that stoplamps on a vehicle of a size required to be equipped with clearance lamps shall be visible from a distance of 500 feet from the rear of the vehicle during those times.

So if you tint, make sure its still red for the tails and white for the headlights and it emits light to these distances.

(Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, you may still get in trouble for tinted lights but you will have a good case to fight the ticket if you follow the distance law)

Yes it most certainly lessens the light ... unless of course you get the clear which is 99% VLT ( visible light transmission )

I got the smoke tint so I'll just have to see what they look like.Definately wouldn't go with the blackout
