If you want a good winch at a good price I suggest a Smittybilt XRC-8. When they go on sale they are $250 and pretty reliable once you crack it open and seal it up yourself along with the solenoid. To shed even more weight I would swap the steel line with synthetic, roller fairlead to hawse, drop the hook and use a factor 55 pro link. All together this would probably weigh 60 lbs so it's not that much more weight and you have a winch.

I would suggest Warn but the same thing happens really, I submerged mine in water and it corroded and failed. Ordered a new solenoid, sealed it up nice and tight and it's been trouble free since. It's just Warn is over twice the cost. This is just my 2 cents.

Sorry man I missed this post. I thought about getting a winch but in the end, the places I go there really isn't much to winch too. I'm not into hard core off roading (odd as that seems with the direction this truck has taken) but I'm more concerned about approach and departure angles. I don't go mudding or run it through the woods. Not saying I couldn't benefit from a winch but if I get into a situation that I need one I've fucked up pretty badly. I do that quite often now that I think about it lol.

I'm glad I came across your build page. I was searching for Bedrocks on Tacomas. I traded my first gen Tundra and kept my Bedrocks. Yakima site said they wouldn't fit. I have the adapters like you use, so I'll be putting that rack on this weekend. I'd say your truck is perfection. I'll be copying several of your mods. Great job!

    Thanks :)

I've got to revamp my build page. Truck looks nothing like it did. Yakima rack is gone and replaced with Relentless Fab bars.

    How it started.

How it sits now and I'm not remotely close to finishing

Thanks :) It's a @Pelfreybilt aluminum bumper. If your ever in the market for one I highly suggest Pelfreybilt. Quality products and even better service.
