Cool I plan on gettin some off road lights and an all pro bumper when i run into some money (which rarely ever happens )

 

I know i want a limited slip but i like the truetrac because its all gear type, did you install it yourself, did you have to replace your carrier bearings?

 

I heard that man thats why im stuck where i am now school gets in the way a lot ha but this summer ill have a job and im gettin a few of the endless things i wanna do to my truck

Yep it does. is your air box flat on the front? mine has curves

 

Yea mine has like little plastic louvers on it but it looks likey u could still make it work

 

How hard was it to install the truetrac, i heard wheather you change the bearings or not you have to have a press for the install, did you use one?

 

Yeah ive looked into it a lot and ppl on here said they just have to put extra silicone to seal up those curves

 

It was a pain in the ass for me because I really have no experience with that stuff. I used my friends press to remove the bearings

 

haha i thought it would be, i have no experience with that stuff either, but would you recomend the truetrac, does it make a huge difference over open diff offroad, is really smooth on road?

 

I would definitely recommend it. Over the last 3 weeks or so I have had it on it has saved me multiple amount of times. and as for on road I couldn't really tell much of a difference

I read something about needing a backlash tool, whatever backlash is, for the detroit truetrac instal, dont you just unbolt the axles and slide them out enough to get your carrierr out the remove the bearings and press them on to the new carrier then unbolt the ring gear from the old carrier and bolt it up to the new one then put it back in the way it came out?

 

This truck looks great man put it on my thread we need some more awesome 1st generations on there
