Are the gauge clusters in the V6 and I4 interchangeable?

I know the automatics have the little diagram in the right-hand portion that indicates gear selection, and the '05 doesn't have a TPMS light.

But do both gauge clusters have a 120 mph speedo and 5.5k redline?

Another question I have is in regard to mileage.

If you take a gauge cluster from one truck to another, would the mileage carryover? Meaning if Truck 1 had 10,000 miles and you put it's cluster into Truck 2, would Truck 2 say that it had 10,000 miles regardless of how many were actually on it? Or is the mileage stored in the truck's ECU?

All the Clusters have the 120 mph speedo, and the 5,500 rpm redline tach.
I know on the first gen Tacomas, the ODO from the replacement cluster would remain, on the new trucks, its a good question.

That's good to know, thanks chris.

Yeah the mileage is what I'd like to know most of all. I'd like to get a gauge cluster and do some LED swaps is why I ask. But if it maintains the mileage from the donor truck, it really wouldn't be worth it.

I'm not going to be much help, but I don't imagine to many have had to do this b/c of the trucks still being new and all. I think you would have better luck contacting Toyota.

What ever mileage is on O/D is stored on the spedo head and not in the ECM. When a customer has a bad speedo head we must provide the current miles on the spedo to the parts department when ordering a new one. When the new part arrives it will already have those miles burned on the new head unit. ;)
