I am getting a supercharger and have read on here that I should get an air / fuel gauge. If this is really needed what is everyone running? Also any other gushes needed or really anything for that matter.
    Thanks

I would like to hear opinions on this too. And on a side note. My kenwood radio taps into the obdII connector and shows gauges including stock AFR. How accurate is the stock O2 sensor. I have heard that it is a wideband?? 2013 TRD Off Road 4x4 4Dr SB with SC

Do I need a dedicated Wideband O2 sensor?

I got my SC in Dec 2014. I don't have one. If it's all stock except the SC you don't need one. If you like to tinker and mod, then yes get one.

I'm in the same boat and by no means an expert, but a couple of the techs here pointed me towards the AEM wideband. I was looking at narrow band as well, but everyone has since pushed me away and moved me to a wideband. And like Conumdrum said, If you're worried about it, it's nice to have but not necessary.

I am not sure how much I will tinker with it but I would like to get the 2.85 pulley and cai. What are good numbers if I do get one. I know nothing about this. Only boosted vehicle I have had is 2013 cummins and did nothing to it. Thanks

You'll need an upgraded fuel pump if you get the pulley. Or go lean and boom.:(

I'll try to remember to take a picture tonight. The one i have isn't obtrusive in the dark, and I haven't added it to a dimmer.

The blue innovate AFR gauge, on the other hand....damn near needed glasses on in the dark, if it wasn't on a dimmer. Wow that thing was bright!

When I had my S/C on my truck I had an AFR and boost gauge. THey looked really cool, but I could have had neither and had my truck run perfectly fine. Since the S/C's boost is not going to exceed what the pulley allows, it's really not necessary. It's not like a turbo that uses a vac/boost signal from the waste gate. I used to boost gauge more for when I was trying to be fuel efficient on long trips to try to stay out of boost, but other than that you really don't need them for a TRD S/C. If I did another TRD S/C set up I would probably not use gauges at all.

    Not true.

This was covered in-depth in a thread full of information that was deleted due to a few ass hats that felt the need to ruin it and turn it into a childish personal attack-fest.

If you go supercharger and stock tune you will run rich. Super rich. If you want to add a wideband at this point you can but it's really not necessary as the rich state of the tune will protect you from lean/boom. If you add a stealth pulley you most likely will still be alright. If you plan to alter from the stock configuration your first mod should be a wideband O2 gauge. This way you can get a solid baseline to work from. Then once you add smaller pulley you can see where your O2 went and it likely will still be rich in most conditions. This has been everyone's experience that has gone to the stealth pulley. You shouldn't be altering anything else w/o a baseline to know where you were, where you are plus something to adjust where you want to be. Skipping this step (wideband O2) in the mod process if you go beyond what is considered factory could be catastrophic. Even if you leave it as it came from the factory (s/c & tune that is) you could still gain power from a wideband O2 and something like a MAF calibrator to lean out the ratio a little bit.

So would a scan gauge or one of those aero force gauges be good enough for a/f? or should I get a dedicated a/f gauge. I am not wanting to do anything crazy like I said cai and 2.85 pulley. That won't even happen for a while. Going to drive it and enjoy the warranty for a little bit just is case.
    Thanks for all the help.

Those tools only read what the ecu reports to the OBDII port. The Scangauge II reports no richer than 12.0:1. Not a rich enough reading when most TRD reflashes are in the 10's. Ultragauge is likely the same.

Upgrade down the road. Having real time data lets you understand if something is out of the ordinary. As long as you understand what you are reading.

I have been reading as much as possible about this and it sounds like we have two wide band O2 sensors on our trucks already. Is it possible to buy the guage and just tap into one of the existing sensors? If not where is the best place to put the new one?? Have read it needs to be @ 10 or 2 position. Is this correct.

I am kind of leaning towards the plx dm-100 touchscreen but of course more questions.
Does anyone know if you are able to get trans temp through the obd port like on the scan guage or will I have to purchase the extra box for that like boost and a/f. Also does it have mpg read outs like the scangauge.
    Thanks

The sensors infront of the catalytic converters are WRAF sensors (Wideband Ratio Air Fuel). The O2 sensors after the catalytic converters are not Wideband sensors.
