hay hay, ive heard many different inputs on this topic. Anyone have experience running TRD Supercharger with a snorkle on there second gen?? Yes I know snorkels are silly and stupid and whatever but I had one on my 3rd gen and I want another.

So if so did you expereince any power loss/collapsing hose issues?

@eon_blue has that combo on his first gen. I imagine it would work just fine on a 2nd gen as well.

Yeah it works fine, only issues I've heard of are with lesser quality snorkels where the force of the air being pulled through the tubing causes it to collapse shut, but any of the quality name brand snorkels will work fine.

I noticed that my intake temps are about 10 degrees or more cooler on average now with the snorkel, too...since it's pulling in cooler ambient air rather than air from the engine bay/wheel wells.

Why are snorkels are silly and stupid? Some may not like the looks of them, ok. But why are they silly and stupid?

Snorkels are dope. They only are stupid on those new pros. The people that buy them will never use them for their intended purpose

I'm actually running the ARB knockoff being sold on eBay haha. I waited until several other members bought it and installed it before I did, it's a virtual clone of the ARB Safari snorkel for $100 ($150 now). But it's only for 1st gens. I've had it on for 3 months now and no issues at all

I hear you. I think they are great, not sold on the overall look. In fact, go to a country that is pure desert and you will find most 4x4s have snorkels. They are not just for water, they actually help with getting clean air and cooler air (desert heat) in a very hot and arid environment.

They actually serve a valuable purpose in different environments. I guess people have the misconception that they are only for deep water crossings. Not so......

Get you air intake out of the wheel well and into nice fresh air is the primary benefit. I used to have to change my air filter every other oil change. Now with a snorkel i can get 4-5 oil changes out of one.

Secondary benefit is reducing the possibility of water intrusion

No it's a new one that just came out a few months ago, the Hilux was the other cheap one though. The one I've got goes directly into the fender closer to the passenger door, doesn't run along the side of it. Slightly different design

I installed mine before ARB offered a snorkel for the 2nd gen. Mine was originally intended for a LC80, the gaps aren’t 100% and it took a lot of adjusting. It is low profile, works great and didn’t cost $$$$

Good to know. I also have a SC and a snorkel was going to be my next mod.

Building off the OP's original question -- what snorkel works with a 2nd Gen with TRD CAI and S/C? I saw on the 2nd Gen Dobinson's thread that their snorkel is not compatible with the TRD CAI, but haven't found similar disclaimers anywhere else.
