Great mod, OP! I just did it

A word of advice for anyone considering using a small paperclip to work the terminals out, buy the harness or the proper terminal tool. I ended widening the terminal with the paperclip enough where it didn't make contact, and had to crimp it back down to make it work. :frusty: But it works great now!

As far as paddle shifters, I'd love it if someone figured this out. For example, a complete steering wheel swap from a Lexus LX570 might work. Picture here :notsure:

I bought the @Accessorides harness and installed it today. Works perfect!

It’s a little thing, but it sure makes me happier now. Thanks to everyone who made this happen!

Never thought of this mod, but definitely did think it was unnatural as evidenced by me accidentally shifting the wrong direction because of it. Luckily the computer kicked in. I just wish you could do something about it automatically starting in 4th when entering the mode. (Unless I'm missing something)

All you people that say you screwed up shifting because of the direction. Are you all right? You keep saying its un natural. If after shifting a few times it does not become natural then you need to put down your phone and start reading books and going for walks and talking to other people. The dependency on your phone is turning you all into mush. Try going from a motorcycle with left foot shift to right foot shift. Or suicide hand shift. Also ITS A FKN TRUCK! Not a 4spd muscle car with an M22. Great mod though.

    Thanks for posting this.

I will be doing a follow up video to review/ discuss how it has been going, and will be sharing the harness as I received one this week from @Accessorides.
Also, going to try to explain S Mode as I see a good amount of comments on FB where most people don't know how it works or what it does.
Thanks again. I will have all the links to this thread and to the harness on the review video as well.

How about when you aren't used to it because you are just trying it out? The phone has nothing to do with it. As the OP stated, it's much more natural to shift with momentum and I find the same thing. It has its place, but I've only tried it a couple of times just to play with it.

Pretty sure I just crimped it back to spec with needle nose pliers. I might have slightly bent the counterpart male pin on the other side to make constant contact. GL!
