just trying to make a list of all info for a S-Runner because its all so spread out with no legit answer telling all the differences between a S-Runner and a normal base

If you have any other info for this please reply below and i will add it in

So here is the list so far of what i have found:

    Exterior
Color key exterior either black sand pearl or radiant red
    Fiberglass fender flares
16x6.5 alloy wheels wrapped in 235x55x16 (which accounted for the 1” drop of the S-Runner)
    S-Runner badge
Came in ext cab only with either a standard 6’ bed or a step side

    Interior
Had a trim level close to that of a Limited tacoma
    charcoal or oak
    No chrome

    Suspension
Front coils were a stuffer spring rate
    Tokico gas shocks all around
    Bigger front anti-sway bar
    Rear anti-sway bar
    Stiffer leafs(?)

    Drive train
Only available with 5vz-fe and the R150 5 speed manual
8.4” rear axel with 3.15 gears
Exhaust toned for a more muscle sound (according to motor trend)
Modified power steering to make it easier to stear (according to motor trend)
4 wheel abs standerd all 4 years

    History
Between September 2000 and August 2004 800 s runners a month were made ( number vary this is from wiki)

speedometer; tachometer with LCD twin tripmeters;and coolant
    and fuel gauges

Nice, thanks for posting. I'm actually looking for an S-runner. Currently there are 2 for sale. May wait a little longer to see if a low mileage s-runner comes up.

I wanted to thank you for this thread, I used this info as my potential shopping list when I recently found a wrecked SRunner and grabbed the sport seats and rear sway bar.

To add to the list of SRunner differences, I can also tell you the rear axle housing is different that it has the tabs welded to it to actually mount the rear sway bar to the axle. I am going to have to figure something out on my own..

I didnt purchase the axle since he wanted $500 and the 3.15 gearing wouldnt make sense for my 2.4 4 cylinder, and I am not even sure if the rear sway bar will work out for my truck either handling wise.

Here are pics of some of the SRunner stuff I got to add to the thread also, since pics are great visual aids!

Sport seats in charcoal with power lumbar:
    20200215_130238.jpg

Front (which is not SRunner specific as far as I know, but I picked it up anyhow in hopes to reduce body roll and oversteer) and rear sway bar (on left) with all the mounting tabs and linkage (see those plates that mount to the frame, and the longer bent links).

@Sperrunner @e.deCastro Would you mind taking a pic of the rear sway bar and mounts for reference please?

I started putting the pieces together and not exactly sure how they all go now!!

I saw those at the salvage yard, and actually mentioned it above that I thought it should be added to your list of differences in the first post since I found out the hard way!

No worries, I am thinking of running ubolts and saddle clamps to mount the bar to the axle similar to how aftermarket does it.

But look at all these other parts, the links have a bend and I am wondering if it bends in or outwards from the frame:
    20200222_180149.jpg

And also the part that connect the links to the frame, did I get this right on the left or right side (see bend in link also)? These are more what I am wanting to see pics of if you can oblige I would be quite grateful!
    20200222_180200.jpg

Guess I could figure it out underneath the truck of course, but wouldnt an SRunner sway bar pic and pics of all the SRunner stuff just feel right at home in this ultimate online resource for all things SRunner thread?

The beautiful black SRunner is my favorite part of the thread actually, even though it is missing the color keyed fender flares!!

    Thanks again either way

I've had a complete S-Runner rear sway bar lying around and have done some leg work on how to mount it on a single cab Tacoma.
Also can answer some of your questions on how it mounts.

End link brackets - these are located inside each L/R frame rail, the bolts pass thru the outside and underside of frame to secure these L brackets.
Note ALL 2001-2004 extended cab should have these holes, single cabs do not so you need to drill the frame. I've seen these holes on extended
cab PreRunners, etc. So find someone with an extended cab and make a template for these holes.

Aftermarket axle mounts - I started on this route, found stock parts from Helwig that could work, see my photos. I got the ubolts somewhere else.
But these are pretty large and will require some rerouting of brake lines. So I started down the next rabbit hole...

Replicate S-Runner rear axle saddle mounts - This would be far the cleanest installation, I designed these and 3D printed them to eyeball the fit.
Haven't got around to fabricating a pair (which would then be welded to rear axle housing), these utilize the original S-Runner axle sway bar bushings and clamps.

Hope this helps, looks like you scored with the S-Runner parts!

Thanks for the reply, I had seen the Hellwig mounts and those inspired my saddle clamps post above!

Good note about the brake lines, wonder if they can be bent to make do?

Can't wait to see how your weld in mounts come out!!
