    I rented the S&W M&P .40 and the Springfield XDM .40. Both weapons felt good in my hand and were accurate , but I chose the XDM. The trigger on the M&P felt flimsy and the motion was not even remotely smooth. I thought that perhaps it was the rental unit, but the showcase unit felt the same. Whereas the XDM was smooth as butter through the entire trigger pull.
