    Doesn't the owner manual show the top speed in each gear? Someone should look. Tacoma should be capable of hitting its top speed in 4th.

    No way could you get top speed with 4th gear. The truck just won't allow it to happen. Maybe in 5th...never took my truck that high to find out.

    I checked the owner's manual and it does show 4th gear max speed is 107 mph for the manual transmission which is the top speed. The auto has a lower rear end so it should also be capable of top speed in 4th.

    Not sure if truck would let you do it, but if you stuck it in s4, technically it shouldn't shift out of 4th before redline which by that point you're over 100mph.
