i have a 2018 tacoma trd pro. i added a lift (only springs) and now im noticing a vibration/humming sound coming from the driver side. it does go away when the 4hi is engaged and comes back when turned off. i researched and a lot of people have come across the needle bearing replacement. im getting the parts to replace it but i am needing help to replace the part. anyone is the sacramento area willing to help? thanks!

That is someone here on TW.

I don't know where you are in diagnostic process but I always start by jacking up the corner the noise is coming from and wiggling the tire to confirm it's not a tie rod or wheel bearing, then inspect the CV next and go progressively deeper. When I had my stock suspension lifted I would burn through tie rods at an incredible rate.

90% of the time, if the noise goes away in 4WD, it’s the needle bearing.
Occasionally it’s a wheel bearing, but they typically still make the noise when cornering or going around curves.

I’d feel comfortable recommending the bushing based on OP’s description.

ill try to inspect more. all i know as of now is…i lifted my truck with the eibach springs using my trd shocks. and a day or two later i notice a humming/vibrating noise. its not a constant noise but its a noise/feeling that comes and goes. i first noticed at around 45-55ish mph especially slowing down. when i do engage 4hi it stops and when i turn it off the humming/vibration comes back. the humming/vibration feels like its coming from right below me somewhere drivers side. not the steering wheel.

@MyWyfsRnnr just did my ECGS bushing, Chris is great and highly recommended.

I'd check how much play you have in your CV by the diff.

DM him through here and wait. Just FYI he's not always available and could be working on other projects.
