Come out with us sometime, my buddies SR5 is all stock and we get it through some shit for sure. We usually wheel together though so that takes a lot of the worry out of it. Most of the issues just came from ground clearance. I think he dragged mid cab somewhere up park creek and regularly is putting bumpers into the ground as well as wheel in the air situations haha.

A forest gate for Pacific ... something, whatever logging company it was. We went around one gate and assumed we would find another one sooner or later, we were right. It was still cool and followed the logging water run.

Sierra Pacific? They own a few million acres in CA and WA. I think it's their patchwork of clearcuts that cover that whole area.

Yeah dragged mid cab twice but not hard. Defiantly need 4x4 for park creek it's pretty mellow beside maybe a half mile of deep water run offs that will make you work for it. Only photo I got was just at the end of the rough stuff t

I may have tweaked a few things...
I'm interested as well in going with any group that will suffer a Prerunner. I'll invest in my own tow strap and if I'm slowing the group down any I'll turn around. I'm not trying to be a burden, but I need to get some experience before I can decide if I want to invest in better options for off roading.

A tow strap is always good to have. If you have it in your budget, take a look at the kinetic ropes for recovery purposes. Doesn't have to be a Bubba Rope. I think they're a little overpriced. Looks like there are some good budget-conscious alternatives out there.

I used one to pull a Land Rover Discovery off a rock he got high-centered on. Worked great. It's a weird feeling though. You think nothing is happening then suddenly the vehicle is pulled free.

I usually have 2 tow straps and a spare receiver, but like @2BeersPlease said it's always good to have your own stuff. I'd be happy to get more people out with us as we start finding better roads and trails. Prerunner should be fine for most of the main trail stuff anyways.

Yeah I'm not one to rely on someone else to bring gear. I tend to bring anything I think I might need even when it means bringing a bunch of stuff I won't use (speaking generally here) cause it's more safe that way.

Called the mechanic this morning to make an appointment to figure out where this periodic knock is coming from. The front end made more noise than usual when I came to this one stop. Got home, backed into the garage, got down to take a look and discovered my passenger side inner CV boot finally gave up.
    :annoyed:

@Fernando - Up for supervising a CV reboot?

I see a shitload of Coors Light in your future.

I have the SDHQs and my other OEM axle sitting in my garage.

And hopefully you don't start thinking that's where the sound is coming from!

That's a fantastic recommendation. I had seen that once before and forgot. Basically a poor man's winch!

Got me out a few times, even snow before the winch. Hint... bring a friend with you, get's you out faster to get stuck again farther down the road.

So far the only off pavement exploring I've done is some of the high clearance trails in the lower Rock Creek ohv area (Mosquito Rd). It was way more fun than I thought it would be, a friend and I drove around for a few hours. I've never spent 5+ hours driving and wanted to do it again right away.
