Chance at Califab offered to do mine. I ended up doing them myself, I think he quoted $150. A little on the pricier end but if you need it done soon

Nice toys... Where do you shoot? Is the revolver a Smith or Ruger, can't tell in the pic?

I don't believe the cage was actually Chance. I thought I read somewhere it was another employee. But with that said, In the end he owned up to it and addressed the issue head on. Good for him. I've seen his stuff first hand and he normally does good work.

Also, Instagram followers are there for pictures and 'trendy' photos. Most don't care or know about the incident. Not a real good way to judge a company.

Doesn't matter if his shop boy or himself welded it. A cage is a piece of safety equipment that you trust with you life. Half assing it and laying bird shit welds, only welding 1/2 the tube is unacceptable. he had no problem claiming it passed inspection and that it was ready to race.

Ask the owner of the raptor if chance addressed the issue head on, pretty sure he is still out his 13k.

I agree. He fucked up. Don't know why but he did own up to it. There's no post or pictures since then, so I guess we'll never know if he fixed it. Also, not like he was welding down and looking at the welds while doing them. They even stated that they only found it when they cut the cage and dropped the top down.

Also, didn't this stem from retro asking who can do a cab mount chop? A CMC is a lot different from a race roll cage... there's lots of shops around; I was just mentioning a shop that is perfectly capable of doing it.

Ruger. The Glocks and one AR are mine, rest was my dads or friends. And I go way up passed Forest Hill where there's generally nobody around.

That's where I go. Though not as much, spots are either getting trashed and full of litter or too many careless fools out there where an accident is waiting to happen.

I find that spots out in the forest are normally found by two types of people: 1. Druggies with sketchy firearms or 2. People who still appreciate safety precautions who don't feel like always paying a butt load for range fees and having to deal with less range rules.

#1 is why I don't go to Spenceville anymore. Last time I was there, I was nearly hit loading up my car by a ricochet. Some idiots with their tacti-cool AR's were shooting at watermelons sitting on a big ass rock. Shot bounced straight back and hit my lockbox. Knocked my Big Gulp off my table, but had the round not hit my lockbox, it would have hit me in my lower back. There was enough energy in the bullet that it would have done some damage to me. As it was, had to get a new lockbox...

    ^^ Damn, that sounds terrible!

Personally I hate ranges. I always keep it super clean up there, my pops reloads so I grab all the brass anyways.

I appreciate the knowledge. Don't know if it will factor into a decision or if I'll need the CMC, but at least I'm aware.
