I just read that 885s are not usable with stock shocks so I think I'm out of luck on this one.

Thanks for the advice, sounds solid. That said I'm not actually looking to lift, but I would accept up to an inch since it would level me. The only reason I said up to an inch is because I bought TRD OR takeoffs from a 3rd gen (without coils) and I know that the original coils I would have given an inch. So I should be able to use any coils that would provide up to an inch and still be within the limits of these shocks. My best bet is likely a pair of stock takeoffs, just not 3rd gen OR coils if they are heavy duty as I am running pretty light up front (2.7L, Prerunner, Access).

I'm not even sure I need to bother replacing mine. I just figured it's worth doing if I can find the right fit as long as I'm replacing the shocks already.

I have the above setup off my truck the billys are done. but when I bought it they were set at .85 with stock springs and it set level.
I then bought the lift springs to gain more lift . road like shit but did the job.
make an offer if you want them

I'm only looking for coils, preferably with low miles to refresh my suspension while I change the shocks. Otherwise I should be fine to keep use my original coils.

I'm lacking the experience to know if mine are getting worn out or if they are just fine to reuse. I should have made it to the last Mod Day just to let someone with experience drive my truck and give feedback.

@jqueener you still have your truck I do believe. I seen on research you did the internal, (firewall) snorkel, would like to check it out, looks like it would be more safer for me going into the ruff.
Took a hit on the A pillar couple trips back, and would have wiped out an external for me.

The coils are newer then thise shocks.
There is probably 20k on the coils and there much stiffer them stock. There just broke in really. Thats why im offering then to you.
You would have to remove them of corse. Like i said the shocks are pretty much toast.

Sounds good, I'll take a look at my budget and see what I can offer. Do you know what they are or what they came off of, just so I can know what to expect?

Shouldn't be too hard to mount them temporarily and remove the coils the same way I will remove my stock setup (floor jack method).

The coils are the ones i linked above. Toy tec
They are off my 06 sport 4x4 with lots of extra weight. I might be able to get a freind to pull them off the billys for me or i think there is a mod day coming up.

Sorry for all the confusion, that's what I get for trying to follow a thread while I'm at work. Sounds like these coils might also be too HD for my use. Either way I think I'll just replace the shocks for now and worry about the coils later. Fix one thing at a time....

Really appreciate the offer though!

it sounds like some new billstein 5100's would suit you fine. there adjustable for height up to like 2" safely. there settings are 0", .85" ect of lift. your springs are probably fine.

I have a pair of stock Icon coil over springs (Part #158504), 650# rating available. I installed these back in December 2014 and have about 3,500 miles on them. Changed out for the 700# springs. It'll cost you your time and gas to come and get them.

Awesome, let me do a little research to make sure they are a good fit for me and I'll let you know. Picking up would be easy for me, just a matter of finding a good time. I'll PM you to confirm.

    Thanks!
