Too bad you couldn't make it Saturday. It was much more fun playing than it was on the first trip spending most of our time doing recovery!

Yeah looking at the pics it looks like fun, I missed out. Which trail/road did you guys end up taking? I'm trying to determine when we will be able to go up & cut off of MET.

We took Silver Fork Rd out of Kyburz (the paved road that goes up to MET near the top...11N40). Then there's a dirt road off to the left that's labeled Long Canyon 4wd on the map (http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/eldorado/documents/travel/MVUMPlacervilleSide02.pdf) which is road 11NY29. We ended up on the wrong road by taking the "road less covered in snow" and found ourselves at a dead end at the top of a mountain (I believe we went up 16E29 to the top of Bald Mountain). It got kinda steep there for awhile:eek: so 4Lo came in very handy.

I did go up MET about 2 weeks ago and made it about 1/2 mile past the S-curve (the one where you have to slow down to make several turns). Basically just past road 10N43, but still many miles from where Silver Fork Rd comes into MET. And the back end of Bonetti where it comes into Capps Crossing Rd was still covered in snow.

I'm sure it's better by now though. Might be able to travel up MET a mile or two further than that now.

Good to know. We usually just go down Bonetti past the creek & then take one of the dirt roads off of Bonetti until we find something.

Beware that they've been logging a lot on Bonetti. There's a huge pile of logs (at least there was several weeks ago) near that ranch out there. So there may not be a lot left off of Bonetti.

And they were cheap on the cheese for the tacos. 4 little shreds and if you ask for extra they gave you 6 little shreds.

Kinda of funny too they had been around since as long as I can remember 20+ years

Looks like a ton of fun in the snow guys! With all that snow squaw valley and alpine meadows will be open for 4tht of july for the boarding/ skiing die hards. Pond skimming competition at squaw on the 3rd. Its going to be a late season with the higher lakes and trails. Im still sledding in june aka june-uary. (Snowing in june like it was january):D

If you don't find anyone, try craigslist. I bought mine for $25. It had a little dent but im repainting it anyway. Then you can sell the chrome one and make a few bucks to cover the painting costs.
