    Yeah, I got a smog check coming up this year for the first time...I think. This December will be 7 years and I haven't had to do it yet. IIRC, it's based on the model year and not the year sold (bought my '05 in late '04). The first 4 years you just pay a fee on your registration in lieu of getting a smog check, so year 6 is when you get the first one. It's been a long time since I had to get a smog.

    I rented a 5x8 and it was around $100 for one way. I think they are cheaper if you return it to the same place. Insurance was maybe another +/-$20 I think. I didnt get it since I was driving only on paved roads. You can check out the rates on their web site so you'll know before you go in.

    Where have you been. Going to the all Cal fj cruiser event in so Cal then to ouray, Co for fj summit for 5 days the to moab for 5 days of wheeling there.
