Only happens from a dead stop while turning. Rest of the time is fine.

    Any noise associated with it?

I’d start working backwards and make sure it isn’t the driveline or carrier bearing (if you have one). The strain of turning on the diff could be exasperating something. Good luck!

Only noise is from the vibration that it causes. The tech that looked at it seemed sure it’s the rear LSD. 2008 has a mechanical LSD, not electric like later models... In doing more research, I’m starting to wonder if the wrong fluid was used (seems these diffs don’t like synthetic) or not enough additive was used (haven’t found what that amount is, but it seems to be about 4 ounces).

I considered this early on, but the issue only occurs when turning between 3-10mph when first starting out. Has to be under load, as doing figure 8’s in a parking lot at those speeds doesn’t make things shudder.

It’s most likely a suspension issue... I’d start checking all the boots for your tie rod ends and ball joints if you haven’t already. Or jack up the truck and see if the wheel wobbles in ways it shouldn’t

Does anyone have a 4wd van here in Sacramento? I sometimes see those old Chevy vans that have 4wd decals out and about.

I’m looking into getting some kind of 4wd van

but at the same time, my truck has shuddered in the past due to a variety of reasons so maybe it’s not suspension. I think it’s good to start there though. Maybe you have a bad gasket or cylinder.. even a bad air filter will cause unclean air into the vehicle and even shut it off to prevent damage. Check the little things first. If you see overheating or smoke, pull it into a shop or don’t drive it until you figure out what’s going on

Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
They posted on FB too "easy/moderate trail" "stock rigs welcome!"

Then you got people posting up with street tires asking if they can make it up....

Isn't it dumping snow up there?

All it is, is an unplowed 2 way rd. But somebody posted that it is now closed. Not sure if they mean at the gate up top

Was just there. It’s open but the snow was much further then usual and it’s super hard.
