Where are people getting their trucks weighed? I need to replace a tired suspension and should like get it weighed one of the times I'm heading out to determine what I need for rear springs.

What is the cost to weigh at the dump?

In another thread I saw reference to weighing at the Cat Scale. Anyone done that with a pickup? Any idea of cost? I think one can get separate axle weights.??

i've done this a few times. i recommend downloading the app and signing up. its as easy as rolling up, making your your drive wheels are on the plate behind your front wheels, and pushing the button on the app. You'll have to weight for the weighmaster at the location to approve it but its quick and painless. The drive and steer axle weights will show up in the app or you can go inside if you want the print out otherwise you'll get an email with it.

if you don't have the app, you can just push the call button at the scale, give them any random truck number, and then go inside to get the print out.

I forgot the cost but its like $12 or somewhere around that.

 

Very cool. Looks to be 3 around Sac. It reads there is a free reweigh in 24 hours time from the same scale. Have you considered doing a loaded and unloaded weigh in?

I went to the 49er truck stop. I think it was 11 bucks. Just drive onto the scale. Call the phone number on the sign that connects you to the receptionist. Tell them it's a private weigh.

They do weigh the front and rear axles.

 

I took my truck and trailer to the CAT scale. Install the app and you can pay $12-13 and weigh right from the app. The scale has three sections so I was able to get front, rear and trailer axle weights on the first weigh in, and then disconnect the trailer and weigh again for $2-3 for a re-weigh so I could get the truck front and rear without the trailer hitch weight and the full trailer weight with the tongue weight.

 

yeah, i thought about that but i don't live close to one (I'm in the bay) so I've only done them when heading out to or coming back from a trip loaded up. Didn't want to just drop all my stuff in the parking lot to re-weigh. but i have weighed the truck relatively empty. its good having your weights.

While I was paying I asked if they could tell me how much I weighed and they just told me.
They said I could also pull up on the scale on my way out as well.
The scales are right at the little booth you pay at, both on the way in and on the weigh out.

 

My Tundra needs this, let me know when you get settled. Wide truck + Mojave = no bueno
